Platform Data Engineer

- Architect, optimize, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and cloud data warehouses to support both internal analytics and external, client-facing data products.
- Write clean transformation logic using tools like dbt and manage robust workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow), taking ownership of system monitoring, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
- Maintain and evolve AWS-based messaging infrastructure (queues, schemas, event streams) to ensure reliable, high-throughput, and low-latency data ingestion across systems.
- Design secure, performant, and well-documented data entry/consumption points (such as S3 interfaces) that empower product teams to build data-as-a-product features.
- Support scalable deployment using Terraform (Infrastructure-as-Code) while maintaining least-privilege AWS IAM access, data lineage, data contracts, and cataloging.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and analysts to turn complex business needs into reusable, self-serve platform solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, document data architectures and workflows, and help elevate engineering best practices across the team.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Proven experience as a data or platform engineer, or in a comparable role.
- Hands-on experience with AWS (S3, IAM, and related services).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing.
- Familiarity with transformation tooling such as dbt.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow or equivalent).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
- Understanding of data modelling and ETL/ELT patterns.
- Familiarity with messaging systems and event-driven architectures (e.g. cloud-native queues).
- Able to collaborate effectively within a small team and with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with some autonomy while escalating decisions where appropriate.

Salary Range:
Lithuania: 64,000-84,000 EUR gross/yearly.
Spain: 62,400-81,900 EUR gross/yearly.
Germany: 100,800-122,000 EUR gross/yearly.
Netherlands: 90,800-103,900 EUR gross/yearly.
The final offer will depend on experience and competencies.
