Description:

The BETA Technological Centre is composed of a young and multidisciplinary team of more than 140 professionals and is seeking to recruit a dynamic, organised and proactive person who wishes to become part of a continuously growing organisation.

We are looking for a Pre-award Manager for national and regional projects to join the Centre's competitive funding support team. This position falls within the professional field of Research Managers and Administrators (RMA), key professionals in the strategic, administrative and financial management of research, development and innovation activities.

The selected candidate will actively participate in the identification of funding opportunities, proposal preparation and submission of competitive funding applications at national and regional level, ensuring compliance with the administrative, financial and formal requirements of each funding call. Functions and duties:

  • Promote the Centre’s participation in competitive funding opportunities at national and regional level, both public and private.
  • Identify, analyse and disseminate funding calls aligned with the Centre’s strategic priorities.
  • Represent BETA Technological Centre at information days, brokerage events, networking forums and other events related to funding programmes.
  • Support the definition of the Centre's participation strategy in competitive funding programmes.
  • Collaborate with researchers in the conception, planning and preparation of competitive funding proposals.
  • Analyse calls for proposals, regulations, eligibility criteria and administrative, technical and financial requirements.
  • Prepare and review project budgets.
  • Prepare, review and coordinate administrative and financial documentation required for proposal submission.
  • Manage the submission of applications through funding agencies’ electronic platforms.
  • Monitor requests, amendments and communications throughout the application, evaluation, grant award and acceptance phases.
  • Maintain and update proposal and project information in internal and external management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with funders’ regulations and institutional policies throughout the pre-award phase.

Intermediate Vocational Training Cycle Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it. Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it. Advanced command of the Microsoft Office package, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of national and Catalan R+D+I funding programmes. Knowledge of national and regional competitive calls, governing regulations and application procedures. Experience in universities, research centres, technology centres or organisations linked to R+D+I. Ability to plan, organise and manage multiple calls and deadlines simultaneously. Communication and coordination skills. Ability to work autonomously and results-oriented mindset. Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines. Rigour in document management and attention to detail.

Other requirements

Merits

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration and Management, Law, Political Science, International Relations, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or related disciplines.
  • Experience in the preparation and submission of national or regional competitive project proposals.
  • Knowledge of the main R&D&I funding programmes and instruments (AEI, MICIU, CDTI, AGAUR, ACCIÓ, among others).
  • Experience in the preparation of research and innovation project budgets.
  • Experience with grant management and submission platforms (FACILITA, Justiweb, SIDER, EACAT, SIFECAT, the Ministry's electronic headquarters and similar platforms).
  • Specific training in research management, competitive project management or knowledge transfer.
  • Knowledge of public procurement, State aid and grant regulations.
  • Knowledge of the professional profile of Research Managers and Administrators (RMA) and of the good practices associated with research management in the pre-award field.
  • English proficiency level higher than B2.
