The Internship Assignment:

Join the Material Planning team as Data Analyst at Tesla - a dynamic, international powerhouse that's the backbone of our supply chain. As our Data Analyst, you'll be the analytical force embedded in this vital team, transforming raw data into actionable insights that eliminate waste, accelerate efficiency, and fuel our mission to ramp up production in the world's most advanced high-volume electric vehicle factories. You’ll be serving as the center of excellence for data analysis. The ideal candidate is a curious problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, building trust through data-driven decisions that connect the big picture to the gritty details.

What You'll Do

  • Support the tracking and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for material planning by providing essential tools and data insights to assist the responsible team members.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to guide strategic decision-making, providing data-driven support through what-if scenarios and cost analyses.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate AI solutions into existing supply chain workflows.
  • Apply data mining, statistical analysis, and visualization techniques to uncover insights from complex datasets, supporting demands from current production and new programs.
  • Partner with IT and systems teams to define requirements and contribute to software development, from design to testing, in a highly dynamic international setting.

What You'll Bring* Degree in quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics) or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability.

  • A structured, data-driven, and quantitative approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and a strong willingness to experiment with and adopt AI-powered tools.
  • Strong proficiency in querying large datasets using SQL.
  • Experience with a programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R) and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI are highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and present findings clearly and concisely.
  • A collaborative, flexible, and open working style with the ability to build trust and credibility across teams.
  • Advanced level English; German is a plus.
