Verisure is seeking a talented, dynamic and resourceful lead counsel to cover the Arlo Europe business and be part of a passionate team enabling sustainable business growth. You will be part of the Arlo Europe team and will report to the Managing Director of Arlo Europe, based in Madrid.

Our office is in Pozuelo de Alarcon and we offer an hybrid working model (3 days working from the office/2 days from home)

You will be expected to have immediate impact. You will partner in identifying actionable solutions for risk mitigation and commercial contracting against the backdrop of an evolving EU and global regulatory landscape.

About the role

Your key Responsibilities will include:

  • Legally advising the Arlo Europe business on commercial and consumer-facing topics, including supplier and distribution agreements, e-commerce and retail programs, consumer protection rules, marketing materials, promotions and customer T&Cs.

  • Legally advising on all Arlo catalogue innovations (products and services) and accompanying materials and marketing claims for European markets.

  • Covering the operational data privacy topics for Arlo Europe, working with the Group Data Privacy team and the Arlo Europe DPO:

    • to facilitate the provision of pragmatic, cohesive advice on innovations and consumer-facing DP topics; and
    • to promote Arlo Europe business and regulatory interests with Arlo, Inc.
  • Partnering with Verisure country Legal teams on matters involving Arlo Europe.

  • Aligning with relevant Arlo Inc. Legal and colleagues within Legal function on Arlo Europe topics.

Candidate profile

Experience and Qualifications

You must be a qualified lawyer with a demonstrable knowledge, experience and interest in commercialising technology and related services. You have exceptional analytical and communication skills together with a pragmatic and resilient approach.

In terms of experience, you have:

  • Experience as a commercial lawyer in a consumer-facing business including contracting and consumer protection topics, ideally as part of a global and fast paced organization;
  • Excellent awareness of and interest in developing law in the EU;
  • At least 5 years of professional legal experience - potential for development, appetite to be challenged and energy to learn is key!

  • Have effective time and project management skills, with a proven track record of getting things done and leading projects;
  • Have very high EQ and level of judgment – be a strong, confident but humble leader that exerts influence through persuasion;
