A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Site Manager, you will be the primary representative for the Operations Manager on-site, holding full responsibility for all day-to-day activities within the site team. You will ensure that all site operations, are executed in compliance with the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental legislation.
This role is critical in maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive environment, particularly within the electricity supply industry.
Your core responsibilities will include acting as the Principal Contractor Representative, where you will implement and monitor site management policies, control site access, and oversee all work authorizations. A significant focus will be on safety leadership, which involves reviewing and accepting Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), chairing weekly safety meetings, and ensuring a zero-harm culture. You will coordinate extensively with clients, office-based project teams, and local third parties to ensure seamless project execution.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management
- Implement and monitor site management policies, ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to all HSE legislation.
- Review, accept, and maintain a register for all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for on-site activities.
- Chair weekly safety co-ordination meetings, conduct toolbox talks, and manage the site induction and access control processes.
- Manage incident reporting, including non-conformances, accidents, and near misses, and cooperate in subsequent investigations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental policies, including waste control procedures, as per company and customer requirements.
- Project Execution & Progress Control

- Manage all day-to-day site activities, ensuring operations are conducted within budget, timescale, and quality specifications.
- Coordinate with client site representatives, office-based project teams, and local third parties to ensure smooth project flow.
- Act as the designated Principal Contractor Representative, overseeing all contractor activities on site.

- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination

- Lead and manage on-site teams, ensuring they understand and perform their duties effectively and safely.
- Initiate and monitor the setting-to-work procedures, including daily point-of-work risk assessments and safety briefings.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all project stakeholders, facilitating communication and coordination.

- Commercial & Administrative Oversight
- Work with the commercial team to provide timely and accurate cost forecasting through weekly site manager reports.
- Manage the on-site procurement process for goods and services in line with project specifications.
- Maintain the on-site filing system for all project documentation, drawings, and records.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Diploma in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred but not essential.
- Vocational Qualification in a relevant construction or engineering discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in site management
- Experience in wind energy area would be preferred
