What to Expect The Tesla Energy Product and Service Engineering team is looking for a passionate and collaborative Product Engineer to support and accelerate the expansion of the global Supercharger network. With a mandate to realize and maintain the industry-leading uptime of the global Supercharger network a successful applicant will apply solid first principles and leverage data analytics collected from our connected systems across the world to proactively find and solve issues with the Supercharger fleet. A successful applicant will work collaboratively across our global teams to diagnose, troubleshoot, document, and train our organization to ensure our customers have the best possible experience.

The Tesla Energy Supercharger Service Engineering team is responsible for the ongoing success of Tesla’s class leading Supercharger Network. We’re looking for a driven, motivated and collaborative applicant to join our international team to help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable transport. As part of the team, you will be enabled to work across the organization to solve problems and ensure the success of our products. Working alongside the Industrial Energy, Residential Energy and Solar Product and Service Engineering teams you’ll leverage cutting edge data and analytics to ensure the best customer experience and fleet availability.

What You'll Do* Troubleshoot and root cause hardware, software and firmware issues of the global Supercharger network

  • Drive cross-functional efforts and initiatives to implement fleet improvements with the manufacturing, design, field service, technical support teams
  • Utilize remote data analysis, fleet analytics and first principles insights to solve problems with some lab work and onsite investigations as needed
  • Work with the wider engineering and manufacturing teams to drive design and manufacturing product improvements in both existing and future products
  • Provide support on international service cases to minimize fleet downtime
  • Work with field service and technical support teams to create documentation and training to support field commissioning, service actions, and to ensure consistent and stable global service operations

What You'll Bring* MSc in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering OR demonstrated exceptional skills in related fields with 3 years of experience

  • Experience with product engineering, reliability engineering, failure analysis, systems test engineering, or product quality engineering
  • Experience using SQL, Linux based operating systems, Python, and C/C++ or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative manner across many teams.
  • Demonstrated data analytics and analysis
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and intuition, applied to firmware/software/hardware of connected systems
  • Prior experience troubleshooting electrical, system, firmware, or process failure modes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The role is based in Amsterdam with some travel to support investigations, product releases and other service actions as needed
