We are seeking a skilled and business-minded Global Business Intelligence Senior Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team in Barcelona. This is a business-facing role, not a pure IT development position, that combines strong technical Power BI expertise with commercial acumen and the ability to act as a true BI business partner. The Power BI Developer designs, builds, and maintains datasets, data models, and dashboards while working directly with functions across the business to understand their needs, challenge their requirements, and propose better ways to analyze data and measure performance. The role requires a solid understanding of the company’s core KPIs, particularly sales, margin, and corporate finance, but not limited to these; and the ability to translate business questions into clear, decision-oriented analytics. This position partners with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Operations, and other functions, turning data into actionable insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI datasets, semantic data models, reports, and dashboards using DAX and Power Query (M)
- Develop, optimize, and document robust data models, ensuring performance, scalability, and a reliable single source of truth
- Partner with business functions to gather, challenge, and refine reporting requirements, proposing better KPIs and smarter ways to analyze the data
- Act as a BI business partner, running working sessions with stakeholders across functions to understand their priorities and translate them into analytical solutions
- Define, standardize, and monitor core business KPIs (sales, margin, corporate finance, and beyond), ensuring consistency and a shared definition across reporting
- Turn business questions into executive-ready dashboards and self-service analytics that drive decision making
- Perform ad-hoc and deep-dive analysis, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities, and surfacing actionable insights
- Promote data literacy and the adoption of self-service analytics across the organization
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), dataset and data model design, and report/dashboard development
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure, interpret, and communicate complex data
- Solid understanding of core business KPIs, particularly sales, margin, and corporate finance
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to engage, challenge, and advise stakeholders across different functions — this is a hybrid business-and-technical role, not a pure IT developer position
- Proven experience in a similar BI / analytics role (~3 years)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders and lead requirement-gathering discussions
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience in data modeling, data analysis, and data visualization
- Fluency in English is a must (written and spoken)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Barcelona
You will be joining a highly motivated and skilled team, providing a great environment to learn and grow. If you love working with data, building insights, and partnering with the business to drive better decisions, this is the position for you. We value a proactive approach and encourage continuous learning and development, ensuring that you will have ample opportunities to enhance your skills and contribute to our success.
