About MITS Industries

MITS Industries is establishing an R&D and design site in Copenhagen focused on advanced RF systems, signal intelligence, aerospace technologies, and mission-critical product development.

The site will build core engineering capabilities in RF and microwave hardware, antenna systems, RF testing and characterization, rugged mechanical integration, and the industrialization of complex radio-electronic systems.

The Copenhagen team will work closely with strategic partners and engineering teams across Europe, playing a leading role in the development, validation, and industrialization of advanced technologies for defense, aerospace, and other demanding applications.

One of the initial focus areas will be the development of an advanced aerospace signal intelligence product platform. The work will cover RF and system architecture, antenna system design, signal acquisition, embedded control, laboratory validation, mechanical integration, integration with the satellite platform, and preparation for production and field deployment.

The ambition is to build a strong technical design site capable of taking complex RF products, modules, and platforms from architecture and detailed design through prototyping, testing, validation, industrialization, and deployment.

About the role

MITS Industries is looking for a Technical Project Manager, RF Systems to join the core Copenhagen R&D team and drive the execution of complex RF, aerospace, and signal intelligence development projects.

You will translate product and technical objectives into executable project plans with clear scope, work packages, owners, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, acceptance criteria, and delivery evidence. The work covers multidisciplinary planning and coordination, progress tracking, issue and change management, supplier coordination, technical reviews, documentation, and stakeholder communication. You will work closely with technical leadership, systems engineers, RF and microwave hardware engineers, antenna systems engineers, embedded and control engineers, signal processing engineers, RF test and characterization engineers, mechanical design engineers, manufacturing partners, partner engineering teams, and external suppliers. You will own project execution and delivery coordination, while technical architecture and engineering decisions remain with the relevant technical owners.

The role requires sufficient technical depth to understand complex multidisciplinary development, challenge unclear plans, identify dependencies and integration risks, and drive timely decisions and corrective actions. This is a hands-on delivery role extending from initial planning through prototype development, integration, verification, qualification, production readiness, and deployment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of multidisciplinary R&D work packages covering RF and microwave hardware, antenna systems, embedded development, signal processing, mechanical design, test, manufacturing, and system integration.
  • Translate product and technical objectives into clear project scope, deliverables, work breakdown structures, ownership, milestones, resource needs, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Build and maintain integrated project plans, delivery schedules, risk and issue registers, dependency maps, action lists, decision logs, and status reporting.
  • Ensure that each technical work package has a defined scope, accountable owner, inputs and outputs, assumptions, acceptance criteria, timeline, dependencies, and escalation path.
  • Track progress across design, procurement, prototype manufacture, integration, testing, verification, qualification, documentation, and production-readiness activities.
  • Coordinate execution between the Copenhagen team, partner engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing partners, product stakeholders, and technical leadership.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, technical reviews, design reviews, risk reviews, integration reviews, test-readiness reviews, and delivery checkpoints.
  • Identify schedule, resource, interface, supplier, and integration risks early, and drive mitigation, recovery plans, and timely resolution of blockers.
  • Manage project changes by assessing their impact on scope, schedule, resources, cost, technical dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Maintain clear stakeholder communication through structured reporting, decision escalation, milestone reviews, and transparent tracking of delivery status and risks.
  • Coordinate supplier and procurement activities, including technical inputs, lead times, prototype orders, delivery tracking, and resolution of supply-related issues.
  • Ensure that project deliverables are supported by appropriate review records, verification evidence, acceptance documentation, and production-handover materials.
  • Establish practical project-management workflows, reporting routines, documentation practices, and delivery governance for the Copenhagen design site.
  • Use appropriate project and collaboration tools to maintain plans, actions, risks, decisions, documentation, and traceability.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, applied science, technology management, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience managing complex hardware, electronics, RF, aerospace, telecommunications, or multidisciplinary R&D projects.
  • Demonstrated experience carrying technical projects from initial scope and planning through prototype development, integration, verification, qualification, and production readiness.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams covering RF and microwave hardware, antennas, embedded systems, signal processing, mechanical design, test, manufacturing, and systems engineering.
  • Strong command of project planning and execution, including work breakdown structures, schedules, milestones, resource planning, dependencies, risks, issues, actions, and delivery tracking.
  • Experience managing project scope, technical changes, priorities, and their impact on schedule, resources, cost, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Experience identifying integration, supplier, resource, and schedule risks and driving practical mitigation and recovery actions.
  • Ability to create clear plans, decision points, and delivery structure while working with technical uncertainty and evolving requirements.
  • Experience coordinating suppliers, manufacturing partners, procurement activities, and externally delivered technical work. Practical experience facilitating planning sessions, design reviews, risk reviews, integration reviews, and milestone decisions.
  • Proficiency with project-management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong technical communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to align senior engineers, technical leadership, product stakeholders, executives, suppliers, and external partners.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on engineering or technical leadership background in RF, electronics, embedded systems, telecommunications, aerospace, or a related field.
  • Experience managing the industrialization and production release of low-volume, high-complexity hardware.
  • Experience with systems-engineering practices, requirements traceability, verification and validation, configuration management, and controlled engineering changes.
  • Experience working on aerospace, mission-critical, regulated, or documentation intensive engineering programs.
  • Experience coordinating distributed engineering teams, international partners, and externally delivered technical work.
  • Experience with customer-funded, grant-funded, or other externally funded R&D programs.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA, or an equivalent project-management certification.

Success in the first 6 months

  • Establish clear project governance, execution routines, and decision paths for the initial RF systems development scope.
  • Build and maintain an integrated project plan covering engineering work packages, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, suppliers, and delivery commitments.
  • Ensure that each work package has a defined scope, accountable owner, inputs and outputs, acceptance criteria, schedule, dependencies, and escalation path.
  • Establish reliable planning, progress reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication across the Copenhagen team and partner engineering teams.
  • Clarify the boundaries between product ownership, technical ownership, and project-delivery ownership, and ensure that decisions and responsibilities are documented.
  • Identify critical schedule, resource, supplier, and integration risks early and drive practical mitigation and recovery actions.
  • Establish scalable project-management workflows, reporting practices, and delivery governance for future MITS Industries development programs.
