As a Commodity Finance Relationship Management Support Specialist at Garanti BBVA International you will play a key role in supporting our Commodity Finance Relationship Managers throughout the entire client and transaction lifecycle. Acting as their trusted operational partner, you will help coordinate trade finance transactions, monitor client portfolios, manage documentation, and ensure seamless execution of financing solutions for international commodity clients.

Your role:

As a Commodity Finance Relationship Management Support Specialist, you will be the operational backbone of the Commodity Finance team. You will provide day-to-day support to Relationship Managers by coordinating the execution of financing transactions, monitoring client facilities and exposures, managing trade finance products, and ensuring all operational, risk, and documentation requirements are met.

You will take ownership of the post-origination execution process, acting as the central coordinator between clients, Front Office, Operations, Treasury, Risk Management. Your ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously while maintaining excellent client service will be essential to the success of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Daily Client & Transaction Support

  • Client queries: Act as the first point of contact for routine operational questions (loan status, document dispatch, payments, maturities, documentation follow‑up).
  • Loan booking coordination: Ensure loans are booked accurately and on time, matching credit utilization conditions and facility terms.
  • Credit limit monitoring: Check client availability under approved limits before processing any transaction.
  • SWIFT communication: Prepare and send SWIFT messages (MT7xx, MT1xx, MT9xx) to clients and counterparties.

2. Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Control

  • Facility utilisation tracking: Monitor outstanding loans, repayments, and upcoming maturities.
  • Loan rollover management: Process loan extensions or rollovers when requested and approved.
  • Collateral & exposure monitoring: Track pledged collateral, warehouse receipts, and exposure movements.
  • Country & FI limit checks: Verify availability under country risk and bank counterparty limits before executing transactions.

3. Transaction Execution

  • TDD processing: Perform Transaction Due Diligence checks for each deal (documents, counterparties, trade flow consistency).
  • Letter of Credit handling: Process LC issuance requests, amendments, and document presentations.
  • SBLC & guarantee issuance: Coordinate issuance of standby letters of credit and guarantees.
  • Documentary collections: Manage incoming/outgoing collection documents and instructions.
  • Payment execution: Process payments linked to loans, LCs, guarantees, and collections.

4. Internal Coordination

  • System data management: Maintain accurate client information, facility parameters, and transaction data in internal systems.
  • Operational follow‑up: Ensure all teams (operations, treasury, booking desk) complete required steps for same‑day loan execution.
  • Bank coverage requests: Seek bank limits and coverage for non‑cash exposures (confirmations, risk participations, LCs).

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Required Skills

Technical

+ Trade flows, incoterms, commodity logistics.
+ Understanding of LCs, SBLCs, guarantees, loans, collateral structures.
+ Ability to read and interpret trade documents (invoices, BLs, warehouse receipts).**Soft Skills**

+ Structured, proactive, and comfortable in fast‑moving commodity markets.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in law, Finance, Business Administration
