The Part-Time Chef / Housekeeper is responsible for supporting the day-to-day

running of the kitchen and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment

throughout..

The post holder will prepare healthy, nutritious meals when on kitchen duties and

ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout

the property. Working closely with the Head Chef and wider team, the role

contributes to providing a comfortable and therapeutic environment for clients and

staff.

Person appointed will carry out the following duties and additionally duties not

specified.

Kitchen Duties

 Prepare healthy, balanced lunches and dinners for clients and staff.

 Assist with food deliveries and stock storage.

 Food ordering and shopping trips

 Follow and create weekly menus and recipes while maintaining high standards

of food quality.

 Cater for dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences.

 Ensure all food is safely stored, labelled and rotated.

 Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.

 Wash kitchen equipment, utensils and cooking areas.

 Assist with food deliveries and stock storage.

 Inform the Head Chef or Operations Manager of stock shortages.

 Follow HACCP principles and Spanish food safety legislation.

 Complete food safety records and cleaning schedules as required.

 Use the company vehicle for shopping when authorised.

Housekeeping Duties

 Clean all client bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a consistently

high standard.

 Change bed linen and towels as required.

 Ensure cleaning checklists are completed accurately.

 Maintain cleaning equipment and report any faults.

 Ensure all cleaning chemicals are stored and used safely in accordance with

company procedures.

 Carry out laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and organising linen.

 Replenish toiletries and housekeeping supplies.

 Empty bins and dispose of waste safely.

 Maintain high standards of infection prevention and cleanliness throughout the

property.

 Report maintenance issues or damage promptly.

 Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained and safely stored.

 Follow company cleaning procedures and health and safety policies.

Team Responsibilities

 Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments.

 Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with clients.

 Treat all clients with dignity, compassion and respect.

 Attend staff meetings, supervision and mandatory training.

 Work flexibly to meet the operational needs of the service.

 Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

 Maintain high standards of presentation throughout the property.

 Report maintenance, health and safety concerns or hazards promptly.

 Contribute positively to the therapeutic and welcoming environment for clients.

Regular:

 Attending staff meetings, ad hoc staff training and supervision

Occasionally:

 To be available/flexible when family workshops takes place

 To be available/flexible to carry out cooking duties in the absence of another

cook.

Person Specification

Essential

 Previous experience working as a chef, cook or kitchen assistant.

 Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.

 Good organisational and time management skills.

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 Good spoken English.

 High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.

 Physically able to undertake manual handling and cleaning duties.

 Legally entitled to work in Spain.

 Full driving licence.

 Non-smoker.

 Holds, or is willing to obtain prior to commencement, a valid Spanish Food

Handler Certificate (Carnet de Manipulador de Alimentos).

 Flexible and willing to undertake both kitchen and housekeeping duties as

required.

Desirable

 Ability to communicate in Spanish.

 Experience working within healthcare, hospitality or residential settings.

 Knowledge of allergens and special dietary requirements.

 Food Safety/HACCP qualification.

 Experience working within a recovery, care or wellbeing environment.

 Experience preparing healthy, nutritious home-style meals.

 Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
