Sustainability Manager

About the role

As Sustainability Manager at Pon Holdings, you will play a key role in driving and accelerating sustainability ambitions across our global business units. Serving as a strategic partner, you will spar with, challenge, and enable our operating companies to create sustainable value and circular propositions.

You will help professionalize our corporate sustainability function, embedding ESG principles directly into core business operations. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially minded professional with deep ESG expertise who can act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders while actively executing high-impact initiatives.

You will join a dedicated Sustainability team consisting of three colleagues, where each team member is responsible for driving their own distinct domain within sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Strategy Execution: Support and execute our 2030 sustainability strategy across our various businesses (Automotive & Bike).
• Commercialization: Translate complex climate and circularity challenges into practical, scalable business opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams such as Communications, Real Estate, Finance, Operations, Account Management and Procurement to integrate sustainability into business processes.
• Strategic Project Leadership: Support high-impact projects, collaborating with our business functions and key partners in our value chain.
• Data & Reporting Integration: Serve as the strategic bridge to the Finance Reporting Team, ensuring operational initiatives seamlessly feed into the core GHG accounting and ESG data engines.
• Governance & Compliance: Standardize and elevate group-wide sustainability policies, codes of conduct, and compliance guardrails to meet shifting EU/US requirements (such as CSRD and CSDDD).
• Culture & Change Management: Assist in shaping the broader corporate sustainability culture by acting as an internal expert, mentor, and advocate across our diverse business units.
• Executive Communication: Develop clear and compelling materials for the Planet Committee and other executive meetings, and participate in and/or lead internal working groups.
• Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices and deliver useful insights to support strategic planning for environmental initiatives.

Profile

• Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in corporate sustainability, management consulting, or operational strategy—ideally within the automotive or logistics sectors.
• Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of how sustainability intersects with financial performance. You speak the language of business unit heads, not just ESG metrics.
• Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of current and upcoming European and global regulatory landscapes (e.g., CSRD, CSDDD, Product Passport).
• Leadership & Gravitas: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a proven track record of influencing commercial leaders. You are comfortable challenging the status quo with data and diplomacy.
• Language: Fluent in English (spoken and written). Professional working proficiency in Dutch is advantageous given our local stakeholder footprint.
