Electrical Walkdown Inspector

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Quality Manager / Project Manager, the Electrical Walkdown Inspector will be responsible for conducting field-level electrical walkdowns, verifying installed systems against design drawings, identifying defects/snags, and ensuring installations are fully ready for test pack execution and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough physical walkdowns of electrical and energy system installations against approved drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
• Identify, document, and track installation defects, non-conformances, and punch-list items through to full resolution.
• Perform physical verification of cable routing, containment, terminations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution boards.
• Witness field inspections and support the close-out of physical punch list items prior to system energisation and handover to the Cx (Commissioning) team.
• Assist in verifying that physical installations align with completed Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project standards.
• Conduct joint walkdowns with subcontractors, client representatives, and commissioning engineers.
• Support the field-level implementation of STS Quality and Safety standards on site.
• Provide accurate daily/weekly field inspection updates to input into overall project progress reports.
• Attend site quality walkdowns and resolve physical interface issues on the shop floor.

Key Qualifications & Skills Required

• Trade Background: Recognised Electrical Craft / Trade Qualification (preferred) or an MEP/Electrical Diploma/Degree with strong field inspection experience.
• Relevant Experience: Proven track record as an Electrical Inspector, QAQC Inspector, or Electrical Site Supervisor on major industrial, data centre, or heavy commercial projects.
• Defect Management: Direct experience carrying out systematic walkdowns, generating clear punch lists, and driving subcontractor defect rectification.
• Technical Rigour: High attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and site layout drawings.
