What to Expect Tesla is looking to hire an Industrial Engineer to join the Tilburg Remanufacturing team in the development, launch, and optimization of new and existing remanufacturing lines. In this role, you will apply process improvement expertise to assess production performance, reduce costs, optimize capacity, and enable high-quality manufacturing and service operations. You will closely liaise with production, process engineering, equipment, project management NPI and suppliers on line design, layouts, cycle times, and performance, supporting CT studies and if needed approving line performance during FAT/SAT activities. You will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other teams in a demanding, fast-paced environment on challenging projects that balance short-term gains with long-term process excellence. Travel and potential temporary relocation to support global projects and factory launches may be required.
What You'll Do
- Identify, quantify, compare, and execute production and supply chain improvements to drive cost reductions, capacity increases, efficiency gains, and operational readiness
- Prepare, validate and defend new production floor layouts considering process flow, facility's needs, efficiency and ergonomics
- Validate, and approve layouts, processes, cycle times (CT), and operational performance provided by suppliers; support line design activities, CT studies, FAT, and SAT execution
- Create, standardize, and implement tools to audit efficiency and identify cost reduction opportunities across manufacturing, service, and operational processes
- Define and manage operational metrics for current and future production control systems supporting manufacturing, validation, and production activities
- Calculate, propose, and implement methods and processes for production control systems supporting manufacturing, service, and remanufacturing operations
- Educate and engage cross-functional teams on continuous improvement, industrial engineering, and supply chain best practices supporting project and operational objectives
What You'll Bring
- B.S. in Industrial Eng., Mechanical Eng., Operations Research, Financial Eng., or Engineering Management (M.S./M.Eng. Preferred) with 3+ years of work experience
- Outstanding critical thinking and communication skills, with a very high level of emotional intelligence, autonomy, and servant leadership
- Innate ability to fully comprehend new processes and systems quickly, with high attention to detail
- Advanced-level MS Office skills (primarily Excel and Visio)
- Experience with industry-standard problem-solving methodologies (A3, ATS, UPS), preventive and autonomous maintenance concepts, time/motion study analysis, continuous improvement (Six Sigma techniques, lean manufacturing), and change management
- Experience with applied mathematics and operations research (linear and non-linear programming, stochastic simulation methods) as well as any/all of the following: simulation modeling software (FlexSim), data visualization software (Tableau), design software (AutoCad, SolidWorks, CATIA), programming languages (SQL, Python, MATLAB, VBA)
- Ability and willingness to potentially travel internationally and support temporary assignments or relocation as required to support project execution and business priorities
