Your mission & impact
As a Senior Project Manager – Avionics / Electronic Systems (Development Phase) you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end execution of complex, multi‑national projects in the aeronautics and defense domain during the development phase.
You will:
- Lead project and program execution for sophisticated electronic systems (hardware, firmware, software).
- Ensure alignment with customer expectations, maintaining a high level of trust and satisfaction.
- Drive cross‑functional coordination across engineering, industrial, supply chain and external partners.
- Implement strong governance and project control in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
✅ What we’re looking for
Experience & technical background
- 10+ years of project management experience, including leadership of complex technical projects / programs.
- Proven experience in aeronautics, defense or highly regulated industries (strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated success managing international, cross‑functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong experience in supplier management and production follow‑up.
- Solid understanding of electronic systems development:Hardware and/or embedded systems.
- Product lifecycle milestones (e.g. PDR, CRD, TRR, QR).
- Experience managing projects with high technical complexity and capacity/resource constraints.
Languages
- Fluent English (spoken and written) – mandatory.
- French is a strong plus for interaction with local teams, suppliers and customers.
What you will do
1. Project / program execution
- Lead execution of complex, multi‑national projects in aeronautics/defense during the development phase.
- Manage scope, schedule, cost and risk in line with:Customer expectations.
- Internal project governance and gate processes.
2. Cross‑functional coordination
- Drive coordination across:Engineering (hardware, firmware, software).
- Industrial / manufacturing.
- Supply chain.
- External partners and suppliers.
- Ensure effective follow‑up with all stakeholders on performance, deliverables and compliance in a context of resource constraints and capacity challenges.
3. Technical project leadership
- Oversee development projects involving complex electronic systems:Hardware items, firmware components and software solutions.
- Ensure technical progress is aligned with project milestones and customer commitments.
4. Governance, control & reporting
- Implement strong governance and project control processes.
- Provide clear, structured reporting to senior management and stakeholders:KPIs, risks, issues, mitigation plans and decision points.
- Anticipate and resolve issues proactively in a fast‑moving environment.
5. Customer & stakeholder management
- Act as a key interface with customers, ensuring:Transparent communication.
- Alignment on expectations, risks and decisions.
- Foster collaboration across international teams and stakeholders, building long‑term trust.

Nice to Have – DO Standards (Design Assurance)
- Solid understanding of Design Assurance (DO) standards for aeronautics systems (e.g. DO‑178C, DO‑254) is desirable.
- Experience working within certified environments (DAL A/B/C) is a significant advantage.
- Proven exposure to programs requiring compliance with aviation certification constraints and processes.
- Ability to interface with engineering teams and customers on:Certification‑related topics.
- Documentation and audits.
- Familiarity with hardware and/or embedded software development under DO constraints is a plus.
Must – Product Lifecycle Management
- Strong understanding of full product lifecycle management:From concept and development to production, in‑service support and obsolescence management.
- Experience managing programs across all lifecycle phases:Development, qualification, industrialization and sustainment.
- Ability to handle design changes, configuration management and lifecycle risks in complex environments.
- Familiarity with long lifecycle constraints typical of aeronautics and defense programs:Obsolescence, maintainability, upgrade strategies.
- Experience working with PLM tools and processes and coordinating lifecycle activities across multiple stakeholders.
- Exposure to transfer of production or activities across sites/countries within lifecycle evolution is a strong advantage.
