Your Role & Our Team
IRB Barcelona is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to participate in cutting edge research line -Crosstalk analysis of MAPK signaling- of the Cell Signaling Research Group led by Dr. Francesc Posas and Dr. Eulàlia de Nadal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Studying intracellular signaling dynamics using in vitro and in vivo assays.
- Studying kinase activity in single cells by microscopy.
- Biochemical characterization of MAPK pathway components and phosphorylation events using mass spectrometry and phosphomutant analyses.
- Investigating cell-type-specific responses to MAPK pathway activation using multiple cellular models.
- Assessing cell viability, cell cycle progression, and stress adaptation in response to pathway perturbations.
- Independently design and test biological hypotheses.
- Plan, perform and interpret experiments.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team, tapping into the expertise of fellow researchers and external collaborators.
- Contribute to a culture of scientific excellence, efficiency, and teamwork.
- Contribute to other lab projects and to the maintenance of protocols and laboratory resources in the group.
- Critically analyze analytical results, participate in scientific discussions and in preparation of diverse forms of scientific communication (seminars and conferences).
- Participate in the project activities: meetings, presentations, visits to other labs, collaboration, exchange of data sets, preparing project reports/deliverables.
- Writing scientific articles and research projects.
- Perform excellent research according to the high standards of the lab and the IRB Barcelona.
YOU HAVE
- PhD in any of the Life Sciences fields.
- Experience in cell signaling research, preferably in kinase-based pathways.
- Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry-based phosphoproteomics or familiarity with phosphopeptide analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in confocal microscopy and image analysis.
- Extended knowledge in culture of mammalian cells, molecular and cell biology techniques.
- Strong peer reviewed publication record
- Demonstrated ability to design and conduct experiments independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative person.
- Willing to keep on learning.
- Ability to work independently in a demanding research environment.
YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE
- Experience with phosphomutant generation and functional validation.
- Knowledge of stress response pathways (osmotic stress, oxidative stress, DNA damage) and their interplay.
- Experience working with mouse models relevant to stress signaling or stem cell biology. and relevant certifications or a certificate of competence for handling animals for experimentation.
- Research experience in signal transduction.
- Familiarity with bioinformatic tools for single-cell data analysis or mass spectrometry data processing.
- Experience in university-level teaching or supervision of junior researchers (undergraduate or Master's students).

**Good Working conditions:2-3 years Postdoctoral Fellow. Employed in compliance with Spanish legislation and regulations under a full-time contract. Employees receive the benefits of the Spanish Social Security system covering sickness, maternity/paternity leave and injuries at work.
