Are you motivated by real world applications of sustainability in risk management, and the role of finance in supporting the transition of businesses and society? ESG Integration in Group Risk Management is looking for a curious and structured Student Assistant to join our team where we work at the intersection of sustainability, risk management. regulation, and business implementation. You will join a professional and collaborative environment, interacting with colleagues across risk, business units, sustainability, reporting, credit, and other central functions. The work is often cross-functional and requires a combination of analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement and attention to detail.

About ESG Integration in Group Risk Management

The ESG Integration team is part of Group Risk Management, and is responsible for shaping the Group’s sustainability risk strategy in line with Danske Bank’s commitment to support sustainable, long-term progress in society. We enable the organisation to integrate and manage environment, social and governance risks in its activities and support the Group’s sustainability initiatives by providing appropriate advice, challenge and oversight to ensure a sound risk culture for good business decisions. To do so, the team must consider both internal activities as well as external developments in the regulatory and business environment in its analysis, to distill these into relevant internal standards, boundaries and tools that we use to steer and oversee the management of sustainability risk in business decisions and operations.

About the role

The role is expected to be part-time and designed to fit alongside your studies. We will support your development and aim to give you tasks that match your study background, interests and growing experience. Working hours and start date can be agreed in dialogue with the team.

You will be part of a team that is supportive and values professionalism, collaboration and practical problem-solving. You will gain insight into how a large Nordic bank works with sustainability, risk management, and regulatory implementation and you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work, develop your professional skills, and build a broad network across the organisation.

Responsibilities and expectations

As a Student Assistant, you will support the team with both recurring tasks and ad hoc assignments. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Ongoing data transformation (extraction, verification) and analysis
  • Helping prepare materials for reporting, internal governance forums, management updates, workshops and stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist with data and information gathering, quality checks, documentation etc. for engagement with regulatory and/ or industry bodies.
  • Supporting follow-up on actions, timelines and deliverables across projects and workstreams.
  • Support and assist in oversight activities, including thematic reviews, sustainability risk related methodologies, analyses and disclosures. About you

We are looking for a student who is eager to learn and work with how ESG, regulation and risk management connect and are implemented in banking.

We imagine that you:

  • Are currently studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree, for example within business, economics, finance, political science, law, data analytics or a relevant field.
  • Are structured, reliable and able to manage several tasks with sufficient attention to detail.
  • Are analytical, and enjoy working with both qualitative information and quantitative data.
  • Communicate clearly in English, both in writing and verbally.
  • Are comfortable working with and/ or learning how to use and apply professional tools used by the team.
  • Are curious, proactive and willing to ask questions when something is unclear.
  • Enjoy working with colleagues across different areas and can contribute to a positive team environment. Interested?
