We have an opportunity for an Electronics Design Engineer / R&D Product Development Engineer to join our Lighting and Precision Connections team in Europe, based in Den Bosch, Netherlands.The team develops products and systems for lighting, precision connectivity, sensing, power and industrial applications. The Electronics Engineer provides knowledge and expertise to design, develop, test and release the electronics of these products.
Your main tasks:
- Responsible for schematic circuits, printed circuit boards, PCB assembly layouts, component selection, simulations, debugging and testing required for the product.
- Product specifications
- Schematic and layout design
- Concept testing
- Generating test requirements
- De-risking through literature study, simulation and testing
- Supporting product qualification and manufacturing ramp-up.
- Work closely with engineers related to firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality and product management to ensure the hardware achieves the required functionality and system performance. Your ideal profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Hardware, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
- 5+ years of experience in product development.
- Ability to analyze circuit designs using Altium Designer or an equivalent design environment.
- Proficient in circuit and layout design, with the ability to take full ownership from concept to completion.
- Experience performing simulation, debugging, measurement, and testing of electronic circuits and embedded hardware.
- Hands-on mentality of lab testing or field-testing
- Knowledge of various interface communications such as UART, SPI and I2C
- Knowledge of different microcontroller platforms such as Microchip, STM or TI MCUs.
- Basic understanding of embedded firmware development and C-programming is an advantage.
- Advantageous would be experience with DALI-2 for Lighting and/or wireless protocols.
- Knowledge of Lean Product Development, structured engineering processes and design-for-manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must, Dutch would be a nice to have Competencies
