Job Title: Process Engineer
At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can’t afford to fail. We’re more than 85 000 people worldwide creating the industry’s most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.
More than a job: a mission
We’re looking for a Process Engineer to help define and industrialize manufacturing processes for cutting-edge rolling stock projects in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Barcelona). This is a role with real impact, ensuring products are designed, validated and manufactured efficiently, safely and with the highest quality standards.
You’ll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication - because they know what’s at stake: the journey home.
Your role, your impact
- Define manufacturing processes and associated industrial equipment for new products
- Contribute to product design in co-engineering mode, ensuring industrial requirements are considered from the earliest stages
- Develop industrial documentation, including manufacturing instructions, industrial data sheets and process follow-up documentation
- Perform line balancing, workload estimation and workstation layout design, optimizing ergonomics and EHS compliance
- Lead and support process validation activities including P-FMEA, FAR and FAI
- Support production teams in achieving Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) targets and industrialize engineering changes when required
You’ll work with sharp, committed teams across engineering, production and quality - solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility.
What you bring
- Engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering, ideally within the railway industry
- Strong knowledge of Process Engineering, manufacturing work instructions, line balancing and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP for BOM management, routings and configuration follow-up
- Knowledge of Quality, EHS standards, ergonomics and industrial validation methodologies (P-FMEA, FAR, FAI, QRQC)
- Familiarity with CAD and PLM tools such as CATIA and DELMIA
- Fluent English (B2 level or equivalent); French is a plus
- Strong communication skills, autonomy, organization and a collaborative mindset
How success is measured
- Quality and completeness of industrial documentation and process deliverables
- Manufacturing readiness achieved within project milestones and industrialization targets
- Efficiency of manufacturing processes, workstation design and line balancing activities
- Contribution to product validation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support provided to production teams in achieving QCD objectives
Alstom, a great place to grow
- Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
- Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
- Contribute to innovative projects
- Utilise our cooperative working environment
- Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
- Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
- Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage
Here, progress isn’t always easy - the scale is massive, the tasks are complex - but the impact is real. Because when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects - that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.
