The BETA Technological Centre is made up of a young, multidisciplinary team of more than 140 professionals and is seeking to recruit a dynamic and proactive individual who is motivated to join a growing organisation.

We are looking for a Senior Economic Project Management Officer for competitive projects, mainly European-funded projects, to join the Centre’s finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the economic, financial and administrative monitoring of research and innovation projects, as well as in their financial reporting and justification to funding bodies.

The selected candidate will participate in the economic and financial management and monitoring of various projects within the Centre, including the preparation of financial reports and support for project audits. Functions and duties:

• Monitor and oversee the financial and economic management of the Centre’s projects.
• Provide administrative, accounting and management support.
• Prepare, review and submit financial reporting and cost justification documentation for projects, in coordination with the relevant Project Manager.
• Participate in and support the preparation of project audits, in coordination with the relevant Project Manager.
• Maintain and update internal and external project management systems.
• Ensure compliance with institutional regulations and funding body requirements.

Higher Vocational Training Diploma (EQF Level 5) in Administration and Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Administrative Management, or related fields. Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it. Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). Knowledge of the economic and administrative management of competitive projects. Knowledge of European funding programmes, particularly Horizon Europe, LIFE, Interreg, PRIMA, Erasmus+, or similar programmes. Experience in a university or research centre environment. Strong organisational, planning, autonomy and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail, accuracy in document management and strong financial analysis skills.

Merits

• University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Law, or related fields.
• PhD degree.
• Previous experience in the management of competitive research projects.
• Additional training in research management and knowledge transfer.
• Experience within the higher education sector.
