About the Role:

At OneArc, our technical operations underpin critical infrastructure across the globe. But global consistency only works when it respects local reality.

As our Regional Technical Lead in Sweden, you will serve as the strategic technical voice for the region and the operational backbone for our local systems. Leading a focused team of two engineers within our broader TechOps organization, you will balance two vital responsibilities: advocating for Sweden’s unique technical requirements in global architectural forums, while driving absolute adherence to global standards across our local footprint. If you are a hands-on technical leader who excels in matrixed global environments, this is your platform to mentor, architect, and execute.

What Impact You’ll Have

In Your First 90 Days:

  • Establish Team Cadence: Take ownership of mentoring and guiding your team of 2 engineers, establishing operational best practices and support workflows.
  • Audit Regional Infrastructure: Assess local systems (VMware, Linux, Windows, Cisco/Extreme, Fortigate) to ensure baseline alignment with global security and reliability standards.
  • Join Global Forums: Step in as Sweden’s primary technical representative in global TechOps working groups and architecture reviews.

In Your First Year:

  • Achieve Seamless Alignment: Successfully influence global platform decisions by articulating regional requirements, ensuring global rollouts integrate smoothly in Sweden.
  • Drive Automation & IaC: Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation workflows to streamline regional deployments and minimize operational toil.
  • Guarantee Operational Stability: Maintain strict Service Level Objectives (SLOs), serving as the senior escalation point for complex incidents and driving root-cause preventions.
  • Optimize Resources: Balance local vendor relationships and technical resource utilization to maintain cost efficiency without compromising performance.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • High Strategic Visibility: You aren't just managing local tickets—you hold a seat at the table in global technical decision-making.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Enjoy the best of both worlds: leading and developing a tight-knit engineering team while staying close to complex, technical problem-solving.
  • Matrixed Autonomy: Thrive in an environment that trusts you to balance local business needs with global operational excellence.
  • Mission-Critical Scale: Work with robust enterprise stacks (virtualization, networking, firewalls, IaC) where reliability directly impacts core business operations.

Who You Are

What You Bring to the Table (Must-Haves):

  • 5+ years of experience in technology operations, with recent experience in a team lead or principal engineering role.
  • Deep Technical Stack Expertise: Hands-on proficiency across VMware, Linux, Windows, Cisco/Extreme switching, and Fortigate Firewalls/VPNs.
  • Automation & IaC Mindset: Strong practical experience using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and scripting to drive consistency and operational reliability.
  • Cross-Cultural Leadership: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of mentoring engineers and influencing global, multi-cultural teams.
  • Reliability & Security Focus: Solid understanding of monitoring, incident response, and enforcing security/compliance standards.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Points!):

  • Project management experience or background executing structured technical rollouts.
  • Experience navigating technical compliance in highly regulated environments (e.g., defense, finance, or government).
  • Vendor management skills and financial/cost-awareness for regional operations.

The Logistics

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid working model based in Sweden.
  • Travel: Minimal (occasional travel for global team alignment or key regional projects).
  • Perks & Benefits: Standard Sweden local rewards package (collective agreement benefits, occupational pension, health allowance, generous paid leave, and flexible working hours).
