About the team

Product Management at Performativ is responsible for deciding what we build, why we build it, and whether it delivers the intended result. We own the roadmap, shape the solution, make the trade-offs, and follow each product through to adoption.

We work directly with engineers and spend meaningful time with clients. There is no layer of process separating Product from the people building or using the platform.

We are a small team working across a large product surface: portfolio management, reporting, trading, compliance, client engagement, and the data and integrations that connect it all. Every roadmap decision comes with an opportunity cost. Our job is to make those decisions with conviction—and take responsibility for the outcome.

About the role

We are looking for a Domain Expert & Product Owner to help shape and own our wealth management platform and its underlying data layer.

This role sits at the intersection of financial-domain expertise, product management, and technology. You will help set product direction based on client needs, market understanding, and Performativ’s wider business goals. You will turn complex financial workflows into clear, reusable product capabilities that solve real problems without compromising the coherence of the platform.

The problems you might work on range from defining how Modified Dietz returns should be calculated and improving the performance of computational algorithms to reducing latency in trading workflows and designing interfaces used by thousands of advisers every day.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, and engineers to shape features before and during implementation. That means creating workflows, prototypes, product logic, and concrete examples—not simply writing requirements and handing them over.

You will also act as a key internal domain expert across wealth management, portfolio management, investment advice, trading, compliance, and related workflows. You will support commercial and customer-facing teams when specialist product knowledge is required and work directly with clients to understand how new capabilities fit into their wider technology and operating environment.

You will own both the ultra visible and also the less visible, but equally important, parts of the platform, including reconciliation logic, corporate-action processing, valuations, and data quality. A central part of the job is distinguishing genuine product gaps from client-specific preferences or processes inherited from legacy systems.

You need enough technical depth to earn the trust of engineers and client architects, enough commercial judgement to understand the consequences of your decisions, and the confidence to challenge a request—even when there is revenue attached—if it would weaken the product.

The role is based in Copenhagen. We support relocation for the right candidate.

What you'll do

  • Shape product direction based on client needs, market developments, business priorities, and engineering capability.
  • Translate complex financial and operational workflows into clear, reusable product solutions.
  • Help own and prioritise the roadmap for Performativ’s Wealth Management Suite.
  • Evaluate opportunities based on client value, product quality, business impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, and engineers to shape features before and during implementation.
  • Create workflows, prototypes, product logic, and concrete examples that help teams align around the problem and the proposed solution.
  • Write clear specifications that Engineering can build from without repeatedly having to interpret the underlying intent.
  • Join client meetings, deals, and technical discovery sessions, then translate what you learn into sound product decisions.
  • Act as an internal domain expert and support customer-facing teams when specialist product or financial knowledge is required.
  • Identify gaps and inconsistencies across the platform and improve the overall coherence of the product.
  • Decide what we commit to, what we decline, and why - and communicate those decisions clearly.
  • Work with Engineering to balance speed, cost, performance, and long-term architectural integrity.
  • Follow features into production, measure adoption and outcomes, and be honest about what worked and what did not.

What we're looking for

  • Substantial experience in asset management, wealth management, private banking, or a closely related financial domain. Ideally, experience from a middle-office, portfolio-management, investment-operations, advice, or trading environment.
  • A good understanding of financial products, their underlying mathematical concepts, and their operational consequences.
  • Experience or desire to own a meaningful product or process area. Not merely coordinating tasks or administering a backlog.
  • The ability to understand how portfolio data moves through a financial institution and where operational or data-quality problems arise.
  • Comfort working directly with engineers and discussing APIs, data models, system integrations, and technical trade-offs.
  • A track record of turning vague, conflicting, or overly client-specific requirements into coherent product capabilities that were built and shipped.
  • Strong product judgement and the confidence to challenge customers, executives, and engineers when necessary.
  • The ability to explain complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Clear and precise writing. Much of your influence in this role will come through written decisions, examples, and specifications.
  • Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and taking responsibility for the result.
  • A willingness to travel across Europe for client work.

Preferred experience

  • Experience with portfolio-management systems or related order, execution, custody, or investment-management platforms.
  • At least five years of meaningful product-management experience.
  • Familiarity with financial-services regulation, such as MiFID II, EMIR, or Dodd-Frank.
  • Hands-on software-engineering experience or a strong technical background.
  • A practical and ambitious view of how AI can improve both your own work and the products we build.
  • Experience replacing an incumbent system within a regulated institution such as a wealth manager, bank, asset manager, or custodian.
  • Experience working in a high-growth or rapidly changing business.

What we can offer you

  • Real ownership from day one. You will own outcomes, not simply administer a backlog. There are very few layers between you and a decision.
  • Work that reaches production quickly. We ship continuously, and your work can be in the hands of advisers and financial institutions within days rather than quarters.
  • Colleagues who set a high bar. Our team includes people from Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, BCG, Amazon, and other ambitious organisations.
  • The opportunity to grow through responsibility. People at Performativ take on meaningful scope quickly. If you demonstrate that you can carry it, we will give you more.
  • Direct access to founders, clients, and the market. You will be part of the conversations in which important product and business decisions are made.
  • An ambitious mandate. We are backed by leading venture and institutional investors and are building to become a European standard—not simply another regional alternative.

About Performativ

Much of wealth management still runs on software built for another era: batch files, overnight reconciliation, manually assembled reports, and disconnected systems. Advisers and operations teams spend too much of their time working around their technology rather than serving clients.

Performativ is replacing that infrastructure. We provide one platform for portfolio management, reporting, compliance, trading, and client engagement, built around how modern wealth managers actually operate. Our customers include wealth managers, asset managers, and financial institutions across Europe and beyond.

We have raised more than USD 23 million from international venture-capital firms and leading European institutional investors. Our ambition is straightforward: to become the system on which wealth management runs.

The bar

We are builders. We move quickly, speak plainly, and expect people to take responsibility for their work. Autonomy is the default, but it only works when paired with strong judgement, initiative, and follow-through.

Performativ offers unusual scope for someone who wants to take on real responsibility and build something that matters. In two years, you should be able to point to important parts of the product and say: “I built that.”

If that sounds like you, we would love to meet you.
