Workday Time Tracking Functional Consultant is expected to be proficient in implementing and supporting Workday HCM Time Tracking solutions, including business process configuration, time calculation rules, time entry templates, work schedules, reporting, and security configuration. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders to design and deploy scalable time management solutions that align with organizational policies and workforce requirements.Your Role
In the role of Workday HCM Time Tracking Functional Consultant, you are expected to have strong experience in Workday Time Tracking implementations, support, enhancements, and optimization. You should possess expertise in configuring Time Tracking business processes, time calculations, work schedules, shifts, time entry codes, validations, approvals, and integrations with Absence Management, Payroll, and Core HCM.
You will anchor the engagement effort for assignments, from business process consulting and problem definition to solution design, testing, deployment, and post-production support. You will collaborate with HR, Payroll, Operations, and IT teams to gather requirements, recommend Workday best practices, and deliver effective Time Tracking solutions.
As a functional expert, you will advise clients on Time Tracking architecture, compliance requirements, workforce management processes, and industry-leading practices while contributing to organizational capability building and business growth initiatives.Responsibilities
- Relevant experience in Workday Time Tracking Implementation, Rollout, Enhancement, Upgrade, and Support projects.
- Conduct client workshops and requirement gathering sessions for Time Tracking, Scheduling, and Workforce Management processes.
- Configure and maintain Time Tracking components including:
- Time Entry Templates
- Time Entry Codes
- Time Calculations
- Time Calculation Tags
- Work Schedules
- Shifts
- Time Blocks
- Time Categories
- Time Off Integration
- Configure and support Time Tracking business processes and approval workflows.
- Design and implement time validation rules to ensure accurate employee time capture.
- Support integration between Time Tracking, Absence Management, Payroll, Compensation, and Core HCM modules.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday functional solutions.
- Develop test scenarios, execute SIT/UAT activities, and support deployment activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to time entry, approvals, payroll impact, accrual calculations, and reporting.
- Partner with HR and Payroll teams to ensure compliance with organizational and statutory timekeeping requirements.
- Create and maintain functional design documents, configuration workbooks, test scripts, and user guides.
- Support security reviews and recommend appropriate security configurations for Time Tracking processes.
- Develop and validate Time Tracking reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to meet business reporting requirements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and project governance activities.
- Provide end-user training and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Stay current with Workday releases and evaluate new Time Tracking features for potential adoption.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend Workday best practices.
Required
- Minimum 10 years of Workday HCM experience with at least 3 years focused on Workday Time Tracking.
- Experience in at least 2 full-cycle Workday implementations involving Time Tracking.
- Strong functional knowledge of:
- Workday Time Tracking
- Core HCM
- Absence Management
- Experience configuring Time Calculations, Work Schedules, Shifts, Time Entry Templates, and Time Tracking Business Processes.
- Strong understanding of workforce management and timekeeping processes.
- Experience supporting testing activities including SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional configurations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Workday Time Tracking Certified Consultant certification.
- Experience with Workday Payroll, Absence Management, or Scheduling solutions.
- Experience in global Time Tracking deployments and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of Workday reporting, calculated fields, and dashboards.
- Experience working in Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
- Experience in post-production support and enhancement projects.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing consulting experience.
