Denmark, Revenue team at Shine
At Shine, we help small businesses run and grow through smarter software, better financial tools and strong commercial execution. As we expand our Commerce business in Denmark, we are looking for a Business Unit Lead for Commerce to own and grow this category locally.
The Commerce business unit covers payment solutions, POS devices, e-commerce accounting and adjacent commerce services. In this role, you will own all relevant metrics for Commerce, including activity, revenue, activation, payment volume, merchant adoption, retention, cross-sell and partner-led growth for the business unit in Denmark and work closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, CRM, Customer Service and Finance to scale the category.
This is a commercial ownership role for someone with strong knowledge of payments and commerce, who can combine strategy, cross-functional leadership and hands-on execution to turn opportunities into growth.
Job located in Denmark, Copenhagen with in office policy and possibility for remote working days.
What You'll Be Doing:
Own the Commerce business unit in Denmark
- Own the commercial development of Shine’s Commerce business unit in Denmark
- Be responsible for business unit activity, revenue, performance and growth across the full Commerce category
- Define priorities, growth initiatives and commercial opportunities to scale the business unit
- Act as the main commercial owner of the business unit across all local functions and touchpoints
- Build the business unit roadmap together with Product, Sales and other relevant stakeholders
- Drive the Shine Flywheel: Leverage first-party synergies with Shine-owned accounting software like Billy, Salary and Storebuddy to accelerate net-new user acquisition through high-conversion cross-sell campaigns. The goal is not only to lower Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC) but also to drastically increase ecosystem stickiness.
Drive growth across the full funnel
- Own local go-to-market execution for the Commerce category across acquisition, activation, retention and expansion
- Identify and drive initiatives across sales, partnerships, marketing, CRM, website, content and customer journeys
- Improve how Shine positions, markets and sells Commerce-related solutions in Denmark
- Create and ensure that all relevant customer-facing touchpoints are aligned and support business unit growth
- Help launch new products, features, bundles or commercial initiatives relevant to the Commerce business
Work closely with Product and Sales
- Partner closely with product owner to ensure the business unit roadmap reflects local market needs and commercial opportunities
- Manage and closely collaborate with BU sales manager to improve how Commerce solutions are sold, positioned and adopted by customers
- Translate customer, partner and market feedback into clear priorities for Product and sales teams
Own business performance and reporting
- Own business unit KPIs, reporting, forecasting and performance for Commerce in Denmark
- Track and report on key KPIs such as customer growth, Stack Attachment Rate, ARPU Expansion, TPV Growth, LTV Improvement and overall revenue and business performance.
- Monitor business unit performance and proactively own actions to improve results
- Build visibility on opportunities, risks and performance trends for the Commerce business
- Work closely with Finance and leadership on budgeting, forecasting and commercial planning for the business unit
Shape the local Business Unit strategy
- Bring strong market and category understanding within payments, POS and commerce solutions
- Stay close to competitors, customer needs, partner opportunities and market developments in the Commerce space
- Help define Shine’s local strategy and category direction within Commerce
- Ensure Shine has a clear commercial point of view on where to play and how to win in this category
What You Bring
- Strong experience from payments, commerce, POS, e-commerce, fintech or SMB solutions
- In-depth understanding of commerce landscape covering payment gateways, acquiring, payment terminals, Point of Sales systems, popular payment methods (MobilePay, Apple Pay/Google Pay), conversion rates, transaction volume, take rate, churn, fraud/risk/compliance and merchant onboarding
- Experience owning and scaling a commercial area, category, product line or business unit with revenue responsibility
- Someone who combines strategic thinking, commercial mindset and hands-on execution on a day-to-day basis.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, CRM and/or Customer Success
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with revenue reporting, business performance and forecasting
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive initiatives across teams
- Comfortable switching between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
- Proven success in creating strategic and high-value partnerships within industry
- A builder who enjoys creating scalable customer journeys and automated solutions that drives growth.
- A data-driven problem solver who is passionate about improving customer experience and business performance.
- Structured approach to experimentation, QA, documentation, and performance analysis
- A person who takes ownership, works independently, and consistently follows through on commitments.
- Someone motivated by creating measurable impact on activation, retention, expansion, and customer lifetime value.
- Experience with CRM tools like Braze & Hubspot is not mandatory but a bonus
After 6 months, you have:
- You have clear ownership of Shine’s Commerce business unit in Denmark
- There is a clear business unit plan with priorities, initiatives and commercial for each product within business unit (Shine Pay, Shine PoS and potential E-commerce solution)
- Commerce performance, activity and revenue reporting are structured and visible
- Key growth initiatives are running across Product, Sales and Marketing to support the unit tailored to ICPs and segment for each product
- Merged legacy brands (Storebuddy & Transpayrent) into a Shine Commerce BU with a coherent packaging, positioning, pricing, onboarding and sales enablement.
- Shine has a clearer and stronger commercial position in the Commerce space in Denmark
- The business unit has a dedicated owner pushing revenue, execution and cross-functional progress forward
