Building something from nothing looks glossy from the outside. It isn't.

It's spreadsheets at weekends. It's writing the newsletter, chasing the invoice, designing the post, meeting with potential clients and pitching the idea — often all before lunch. As a solo founder, I do it all. And it's not sustainable.

That's why I'm looking for a Founding Intern to work alongside me — not behind me. Someone who wants to see, up close, what it actually takes to build a business from scratch. The wins. The scrappy fixes. The 2am "wait, what if we tried this" moments.

What is Womanship?

72% of women had an emotional or physical worry in the past week. Fewer than a third feel able to share it — because of shame. Womanship exists to change that: a community where women can say the things they don't say anywhere else, and find the professionals who can help.

For professionals, we offer a verified home inside that community — a place to be found by the women actively looking for support, and to connect with a network of peers doing the same work. Not another directory. A wellness ecosystem, built on collaboration.

Share more. Worry less.

We're small, we're growing, and every single day is different. That's exactly why this internship is such a rich one.

What you'll actually be doing

This isn't a coffee-run internship. You'll be genuinely useful, genuinely stretched, and genuinely part of the story. Tasks could include:

  • Contribute to our social media — supporting the content calendar, helping create posts, and scheduling across Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Research — professionals to partner with, events to learn from, ideas worth building on
  • Event support — help bring things like our September reTREAT, The A-Z of Things Women Don't Talk About, and the 2027 Connected Health Weekend to life
  • Content and community tasks alongside our newsletter
  • Community management
  • Help grow our community through outreach
  • General operational support — the real, unglamorous engine room of a startup, supporting the founder
  • A front-row seat to strategy, pitching, and the decisions that shape where Womanship goes next

Who you are

  • A university student able to complete a formal internship as part of your study programme
  • Highly organised — you bring structure where there isn't any, and you're the person others rely on to remember the detail
  • A self-starter — you spot what needs doing and you do it, without needing to be micromanaged
  • Curious and comfortable with ambiguity — some days will have no roadmap
  • Genuinely interested in startups, women's health and wellbeing, or community building
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Ideal skills

  • Comfortable creating and editing content
  • Social media management experience (Canva proficient)
  • Video editing skills (Descript or similar)
  • Research skills — knowing how to dig, verify, and summarise

The practical bits

  • 24 hours a week, for minimum 6 months
  • Open to EU/EEA/Swiss students, based in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU. Non-EU students must already hold a valid Dutch residence permit and be based in the Netherlands for the full internship — we're not able to sponsor non-EU applicants joining remotely from abroad
  • A monthly stagevergoeding of €500
  • Requires a formal internship agreement between you, your university, and Womanship

Why do this internship

Because you won't be fetching coffee. You'll see what a founder's actual day looks like — the mess behind the image, the strategic thinking as much as the spreadsheets — and you'll leave with a real understanding of how a business gets built from the ground up.

How to apply

Send your CV to together@womanship.co, and tell us: what you're studying, why Womanship resonates with you, and what you're hoping to learn.
