About us
frankeconsults GmbH is a specialized consultancy for data migration and data validation in ERP environments. We help companies transfer data from existing systems into new ERP systems in a structured, traceable and reliable way - often in SAP environments, but also in Microsoft Dynamics and other ERP systems.
We combine business process understanding with technical implementation: from the first data extract through transformation and validation to a successful go-live.
As a small, specialized consultancy, we develop our own methods, templates and tools to make data migration more efficient, repeatable and high-quality. This is where you come in.
Why this role?
AI is not an end in itself for us. We want to use AI where it makes real work easier: analyzing data, automating recurring tasks, supporting documentation, developing internal tools and improving our migration processes.
As a Working Student AI Development, you will work on practical applications around large language models, automation, data analysis and internal tool development.
You will help us turn ideas into working prototypes - and turn good prototypes into tools that our team can use in real projects.
Your role
In this role, you will support us in developing and further developing internal AI-supported solutions.
This is not about abstract research, but about concrete use cases from our project work: How can we automate recurring analyses? How can documentation be created more efficiently? How can AI assistants support data migration, data validation or SQL development? And how do we build solutions that are reliable, traceable and practical to use?
You will work closely with experienced consultants, gain insight into real data migration projects and contribute your own ideas to our tool landscape.
Your tasks
You will support us with:
- developing AI-supported prototypes and internal tools
- implementing automation around data migration, documentation and validation
- working with large language models and AI APIs
- developing small applications, scripts or workflows
- analyzing and structuring requirements from our consulting team
- connecting AI functionality with existing data and tool processes
- creating and improving prompts, workflows and test cases
- documenting solutions, assumptions and technical concepts
- testing, validating and improving AI-supported results
- further developing our internal tool set
What you bring
We do not expect you to do everything perfectly already. What matters is that you are excited to dive deeply into AI, data and practical automation.
You are a good fit for us if you:
- are an enrolled student, for example in computer science, business information systems, data science, mathematics, engineering or a comparable program
- bring initial programming experience, ideally in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
- are interested in AI, large language models and automation
- enjoy developing pragmatic solutions that genuinely help in everyday work
- think analytically and want to understand technical relationships
- work carefully and question results critically
- communicate openly and enjoy working in a team
- are interested in data, business processes and digital tools
Nice to have
Helpful, but not required:
- initial experience with AI APIs or LLM-based applications
- knowledge of prompt engineering
- initial experience with SQL or databases
- experience with Git and GitHub
- basic knowledge of web development
- interest in ERP systems, SAP or data migration
- experience with automation tools or scripting
- initial exposure to RAG, vector databases or agentic workflows
What you can expect from us
- Practical AI development with real use cases
- Insight into data migration, ERP projects and consulting work
- Plenty of room for your own ideas and technical implementation
- A small, specialized team with short communication paths
- Direct collaboration with experienced consultants
- Flexible working hours that fit your studies
- The option to work fully remotely within Germany or from our Cologne office
- Access to Udemy Business for your professional and technical development
- The opportunity to develop prototypes that are actually used
How the application process works
We want to keep the process simple and transparent:
- Short introductory conversation
We talk about you, your studies, your interests and your previous experience.
- Technical conversation with insight into typical tasks
Together, we look at possible AI and automation use cases and talk about how you approach this kind of work.
- Decision and shared start date
If it is a good fit for both sides, we clarify the next steps.
Interested?
You are interested in AI, want to build real tools rather than only learn theory, and are excited about a small team with plenty of room to shape things? We would be happy to receive your application, even if you do not match every point. You do not need to be a finished AI expert or have prior experience in SAP, ERP data migration or management consulting. It is more important to us that you are curious, work carefully and are motivated to learn new topics.
You do not need a traditional cover letter. Send us your CV and a few specific sentences about the AI or automation topics that interest you.
Use the application form or send your application to: mathieu.franke@frankeconsults.com
We welcome applications from all people - regardless of gender, origin, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation. Feel free to tell us how you would like to be addressed, for example with your preferred name or pronouns.
