As an Automotive Engineer - Aftertreatment, you work on the development, validation, and implementation of innovative aftertreatment systems that contribute to cleaner and more efficient vehicles. You are responsible for coordinating technical development activities and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to successfully bring high-quality solutions to the market. You operate in a multidisciplinary team where you play a key role in the development of reliable and future-proof emission control systems. You leverage your knowledge of vehicle technology, OBD calibration, scan tools, and CAN communication to solve technical challenges and continuously improve products. What we expect from you

Your challenges

  • Calibrating and optimizing control parameters for diesel, hybrid, electric drivetrains, and Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • Analyzing vehicle, engine, and battery data to further enhance system performance
  • Developing, testing, and validating control strategies for engine, hybrid, electric drivetrains, and BMS
  • Performing calibration activities on test benches, in simulations, and during vehicle testing
  • Working closely with control engineers, software engineers, and system engineers
  • Ensuring systems meet performance, emission, and legal requirements

Your profile

  • A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Control Engineering, or a comparable technical field
  • Experience with vehicle control systems, calibration processes, or automotive control
  • Knowledge of model-based development and control engineering
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink is a plus
  • Experience with diesel engines, Battery Management Systems (BMS), or electrification is a strong advantage
  • Were you actively involved in a technical student team during your studies, such as University Racing Eindhoven (URE), Formula Student, or a similar project team? If so, that’s a clear plus
  • Hard requirement: you currently reside in the Netherlands
  • Proficiency in the Dutch language at a minimum C1 level is a plus
