About the job

The Investment Manager is responsible for pursuing & delivering Oikocredit’s mission as a reality on the ground. It does this by building a portfolio of investments which is geared towards specific social impacts contributing towards the social impact goals/targets in Oikocredit’s overall strategy.

Main responsibilities

As Investment Manager, you build, maintain and monitor a portfolio of investments in several countries in the region. The focus in this role will be on Asia and ECCA. You will lead a team of 2 Investment Officers based in Indonesia and Cambodia and focus on managerial activities, being responsible for building and managing an effective team.

This is a highly entrepreneurial role focused on driving business growth across Asia and ECCA. The position involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, building and nurturing strategic stakeholder relationships, and strengthening our presence in a region with significant growth potential.

As investment manager you act as a relationship manager, translating market developments and client needs into opportunities to create impact and do business. You are conversant on the Oikocredit strategy and sectors and on the products and services that we offer. You work with internal or external experts where required in the best interest of our partners and Oikocredit.

You are responsible for the portfolio performance and the quality check of the new proposals before them being sent to the relevant credit committee.

You represent Oikocredit at conferences and events; identify potential new partners, and supervise and support due diligence processes, credit proposal preparation, the closing of deals and disbursements, as well as monitoring and capacity building projects.

You will support the supervision of offshore lending and local tax and regulatory compliance; are responsible and accountable for KYC and due diligence, provide input and works within the established framework for Oikocredit’s catalyst role.

Education, skills and experience

  • Advanced university degree in the field of business, economics or economic development,
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience in banking and/ or economic development
  • People management skills
  • Advance knowledge of development finance
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Extensive user skills of Microsoft Excel and computer literacy in general
  • Fluency in English
  • Networking and public speaking

Additional remarks

Willingness to travel within country/internationally up to 15-20% of the time.
