HBO Internship Quality Systems & Data Analytics Intern (BESS)

Do you enjoy working with data and identifying opportunities for improvement? Are you interested in quality management, reporting, and continuous improvement within a technical environment? Then this internship within Alfen's Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business unit could be a great fit for you.

During this internship, you will support the daily activities within Quality and contribute to various improvement initiatives. You'll help analyse quality and production data, improve reporting processes, and support the further development of quality systems and standards. This gives you the opportunity to make a real contribution while gaining hands-on experience in a growing part of the business.

What will you be doing?

As part of the ESS Quality team, you will be involved in a variety of tasks related to quality, reporting, and data analysis. Your activities may include:

• Analysing production and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities;
• Supporting and improving NCR and First Pass Yield (FPY/FTR) reporting;
• Improving defect categorisation, data quality, and reporting standards;
• Creating and maintaining dashboards in Excel and Power BI;
• Performing trend and Pareto analyses;
• Evaluating and improving the use of quality management systems and tools;
• Identifying opportunities to automate and simplify reporting processes;
• Maintaining lessons learned databases and supporting the standardisation of quality processes.

As this is a working internship, you will become part of the team and actively contribute to ongoing activities and improvement projects.

What do we ask from you?

• You are currently pursuing a HBO degree in Industrial Engineering & Management, Technical Business Administration, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field;
• You have strong analytical skills;
• You have experience with Excel;
• You have experience with Power BI or are willing to learn;
• You have an affinity for data analysis and reporting;
• You enjoy analysing, documenting, and improving processes;
• You communicate easily with different stakeholders;
• You are interested in manufacturing, operations, and quality processes.

About the team

You will join the ESS Quality team and work closely with colleagues from Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and other stakeholders across the business unit.

The quality function within ESS is currently being further developed, including reporting structures and improvement initiatives. This means you'll have the opportunity to contribute to real improvements rather than simply maintaining existing processes.

You will work closely with the Quality Lead Engineer and gain exposure to manufacturing operations, quality systems, reporting processes, and continuous improvement activities.

During your internship, you will work with tools and systems such as Excel, Power BI, NCR systems, quality management systems, reporting databases, and document management systems, including Aladdin, ProMISe, and Isah.
