Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
InWaTec · Odense, Denmark
You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
Join us in creating Mezcada, the next-gen data platform for industrial laundries to positively impact energy consumption and boost performance around the globe.
At JENSEN-GROUP, we offer a unique opportunity to be a key part of sharpening our observability and operations as we increase the installed base.
You will own observability and alerting, collaborate on SLIs and SLOs with your colleagues to help them create awesome customer experiences.
Our observability stack is currently built around OTel and Grafana and you will help us evolve as the platform and the world around us change.
The team currently consists of three software engineers, a cloud engineer, and a data engineer. We work on-site in Odense and follow our own version of Shape Up, which offers and requires a lot of freedom and influence.
What you’ll be doing:
- Define alerting policies and assist developers in configuring alerts
- Create kick-ass dashboards so we understand how our systems are doing
- Create runbooks and incident response workflows
- Make sure observability gaps are discovered and filled as we expand the platform
- Submit pull requests to other areas, e.g. Python scripting, Terraform coding, and documentation
What you’ll bring:
- At least three years of experience in an SRE role or platform role
- Experience with building and maintaining observability systems in Grafana or similar
- You can find your way around Linux, Windows, and Docker
- Bonus if you know about network topology, firewalls, etc.
- Bonus if you have experience with streaming, event sourcing, NATS, and SQL
- You work independently, methodically, and know when to ask for help
- You thrive in an environment where not everything is defined up front and where direction may change as we learn
- You’re driven by curiosity and engagement
Mezcada
Mezcada is the JENSEN-GROUP’s next-generation data platform for industrial laundries worldwide, a hybrid edge/cloud system that gives laundries full visibility into performance, bottlenecks, and energy consumption. It provides the data foundation needed to predict maintenance, optimize flow, and make better decisions on the laundry floor.
That said, you don’t need experience with industrial systems, SCADA, or MES. In fact, we’re looking for someone who brings a fresh perspective and dares to question the assumptions the rest of us might take for granted.
The platform uses distributed edge computing and is continuously delivered to customer sites on-prem, as well as to the cloud for analysis and support. Machine and sensor data is collected and made available through well-designed APIs, both to the customers and to the frontend applications.
JENSEN-GROUP & INWATEC — The LAUNDRYNERDS
The JENSEN-GROUP is a global leader in industrial laundry technology, with roots on Bornholm and a strong R&D focus. The Mezcada team is based at the innovation hub in Odense, together with our colleagues in Inwatec who deliver tech for sorting, automation, and smarter laundry processes. Together, we’re looking forward to moving into beautiful new offices on Hvidkærvej in 2027.
We’re a fast-growing engineering company, and we love our informal work culture, where every idea is taken seriously, and everyone is treated equally. And yes, we also have fun together: on Fridays, we meet up in the office bar for beers and a game of ping pong amongst many other things.
