About the workplace
At Kansli S at the Faculty of Social Sciences, we are 70 employees, and we are located in premises at the Campus Paradis area in the centre of Lund. We work with qualified support for the faculty management and the faculty's departments in education, management support, research, HR, finance and communication. Our work is characterised by independence, high commitment and responsibility with a great deal of trust from management. The position is located at the International Office, within Kansli S. The International Office is responsible for planning and coordinating international student exchanges and faculty-wide education and courses at bachelor, master, and doctoral levels. The International Office provides advice and support on internationalization issues to faculty management and departments, and proposes strategic directions for the faculty's internationalization efforts.

Work duties
As an “amanuens” (teaching assistant), your tasks may vary and the tasks should provide insight into the academic world. Your main duties:
Staffing of the student reception Answering general student-related questions, both at the reception and by email Handling emails, including managing shared mailboxex for the International Office Issuing and managing certificates for students Creating and publishing content in our social media channels Temporary support and help at student events If necessary, helping with other administrative tasks
Additional duties may be added and your duties may vary during the year, depending on current needs. During the summer, the work mainly consists of monitoring and answering incoming email. The reception is open during the autumn and spring semester, three hours, four times a week. You are two receptionists who divide the work shifts between you.
Qualifications
Eligible for employment as an amanuens (teaching assistant) is someone who is actively pursuing studies at the undergraduate or advanced level at the Faculty of Social Sciences and has not yet graduated. Requirements for employment are that you are admitted to, and in your second year of one of the following programmes and on track with your studies:
Master of Science in Development Studies, Master of Science in Global Studies, Master of Science in Politics and Society of the Contemporary Middle East, Master of Science in Social Scientific Data Analysis, or Master of Science in Social Studies of Gender.
We are looking for someone who is communicative, structured and service-oriented and can work independently and take your own initiative.
Additional qualifications for the position are:
Experience of working at Lund University or another university/college Experience of working in the service sector.

We are looking to hire one student receptionist. The positions are fixed term positions from 2026-09-02 until 2027-06-06 (or according to agreement) at 15 % of full time. The employment as an amanuens (Teaching Assistant) is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), 5 chapter 8-12 §§. The position follows the work time agreement (Flextidsavtal) for technical and administrative staff.
