About Earthkeep Farmcommon
Earthkeep Farmcommon is reimagining what a data center can be. Instead of another windowless box that draws down the grid and gives nothing back, we're building vertically integrated, farm-integrated campuses that turn a data center's waste heat, CO2, and power into fuel for something that matters: thriving local agriculture, resilient jobs, and a genuinely lower-carbon way to power the AI economy. Every Earthkeep site is proof that computing and climate progress don't have to be at odds.
The model is proven, not theoretical: it was tested and validated on a pilot farm in Vermont. Earthkeep is now raising a Series A to build out its core leadership team, advance predevelopment and engineering on its first flagship site, and bring this model to more communities across the UK and US that deserve the jobs and investment that come with it.
Earthkeep is an early-stage company by design — several senior seats, including this one, are open right now, and the people who fill them won't just execute against a plan; they'll help prove that the next generation of data centers can be a climate asset, not a liability.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (HQ) · Reports to: Founder/CEO · Type: Full-time, leadership team
Compensation: €150,000 base, plus up to 1.0% equity (standard 4-year vest, 1-year cliff)
The role:
Earthkeep is hiring a CFO to build the financial backbone of a financial platform company; that means running two distinct kinds of capital simultaneously:
- Corporate HQ level: Helping to close out the Series A fundraise, then migrating to a long-term financial planning and leadership role for the platform.
- Project SPV level: Project-finance-style capital (senior debt sized to contracted revenue, plus mezzanine/sponsor equity) for each site-level SPV as you lead the process of making each bankable.
What you will do:
- Lead financial strategy and reporting for Earthkeep Farmcommon Corporate, including closing out the current Series A.
- Design and stand up the project-finance structure for Earthkeep's site SPVs — senior debt, mezzanine, sponsor equity — starting with the company's first flagship site.
- Build the financial model(s) that separate corporate platform economics from project-level economics, and keep both current as real term sheets and contracts land.
- Own budgeting, cash management, and the ~24-month runway plan for the HQ team, predevelopment/engineering spend, and G&A.
- Be the finance voice in investor and lender diligence — comfortable being questioned closely on both a seed/Series A cap table and an infrastructure debt stack in the same week.
- Develop and maintain relationships with major infrastructure funds — debt and equity — understanding their needs and bringing Earthkeep's bankable projects to them.
- Build out the finance function as the company scales past its first site.
- Build a pipeline of ‘future bankable’ projects: while others build and feed the funnel of seeking future sites, the CFO provides the most valuable screening function – is this site bankable? – before the company spends more resources in chasing/developing it?
What you bring:
- 6+ years in finance leadership, with direct experience in at least one of: infrastructure/project finance, real-assets private equity, or climate/energy investing.
- Finance credentials: degrees in finance, accounting and/or CPA credentials. Proven track record of deals.
- Comfort building and defending financial models for capital-intensive, long-horizon assets — you've sized a debt/equity stack against contracted revenue before, factoring in Power Purchase Agreements, lease agreements, etc..
- Track record working directly with institutional investors and/or lenders through a raise or financial close.
- Not necessary, but good to have: Founding or early-stage company experience, or a clear appetite for building financial infrastructure from a near-blank slate.
- Ideally, worked with data center financing before, and wants to make that world more climate-friendly.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Amsterdam.
