At Lilly
At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. We are a global healthcare leader headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our teams discover and deliver life-changing medicines, improve the understanding and management of disease, and give back to communities through philanthropy and volunteerism.
The team
Global Treasury manages Lilly's worldwide liquidity, cash positions, and banking infrastructure to fund operations, R&D, and strategic initiatives. The function leads cash forecasting and working capital optimisation, manages global banking relationships, executes funding and capital markets strategies, oversees foreign exchange and interest rate risk, and drives treasury system implementation.
About the role
This is a newly designed role and the regional lead for cash management, working capital governance, and treasury transformation across roughly sixty markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. You will own regional liquidity and banking strategy, act as the senior treasury counterpart for affiliate finance leadership, and work with your counterpart covering the Americas to set global working capital standards.
The scope is broad and it will keep moving. As automation matures, the role shifts from execution toward oversight, freeing you to focus on banking strategy, regulatory complexity, and transformation. It suits a high-performing professional with clear career ambition, analytical depth and interpersonal range in equal measure, and the appetite to grow with Treasury's agenda.
What you will do
- Regional liquidity. Own cash positioning, account funding, concentration, and pooling strategy across both regions, securing working capital for affiliates while optimising returns on excess balances.
- Forecasting and scenario planning. Own forecasting governance on accuracy and timeliness, and build scenario models that support liquidity decisions and surface risks early.
- Banking strategy. Rationalise and optimise the regional transactional banking footprint, evaluate bank products, and drive fee transparency and renegotiation.
- Complex markets. Resolve exceptional banking issues where sovereign and regulatory complexity is high: capital controls, hyperinflation, and sanctions exposure.
- Working capital governance. Build deep insight into receivables, payables, inventory, rebates, and cash taxes. Run DSO, DPO, and DOS governance, and turn root causes into action with O2C, P2P, Tax, and FP&A.
- Senior partnership. Act as the primary Treasury voice on working capital with affiliate CFOs, co-develop global policy, and represent the regional reality in global governance forums.
- Transformation and automation. Lead treasury system and banking platform change, process harmonisation, advanced analytics, the move to exception-based reporting, and well-governed adoption of AI-enabled tools.
- Controls and close. Run month-end close and reporting for regional cash management, maintain policies and escalation paths, and ensure compliance with SOX and internal and statutory audits.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience. Master's or MBA preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading treasury or finance transformation, treasury technology implementations, or large-scale governance initiatives.
- Solid working knowledge of Treasury Management Systems and their implementation (Kyriba, Quantum, or comparable).
- Knowledge of internal controls for payables, receivables, and cash, and a firm grounding in foreign exchange.
- Strong SAP, Excel, and Microsoft 365 skills, plus practical use of AI or data analytics tools. Executive-level English.
- Willingness to travel internationally, around 30%, to affiliate hubs across both regions.
You are
- Analytically strong: modelling, scenario analysis, and turning complex data into decisions leaders can act on.
- Credible with people at every level of a global organisation, across cultures, languages, and time zones.
- Agile: quick to absorb new domains, and comfortable with ambiguity and shifting scope.
- Strategic in outlook, disciplined in execution, control-minded, and experienced presenting to executive finance leadership.
Preferred qualifications
Strong candidates will bring several of the following:
- Corporate cash management, global transaction banking, or comparable multinational treasury experience, ideally with a CTP or CertICM designation.
- Proven track record navigating capital controls, currency restrictions, sanctions, or hyperinflation.
- Practical command of debt, FX derivatives, swaps, and intercompany financing structures.
- Delivery of cross-functional transformation or technology programmes, with strong bank and vendor relationship management.
- Background in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or global manufacturing. Additional European or Asian languages are a plus.
What we offer
- Market-conform salary
- 13th month
- Option to have holiday allowance and/or 13th month paid out monthly (1/12th each month) instead of once a year
- Laptop, iPad, iPhone
- 30 vacation days
- Pension scheme
- Monthly home-working allowance
- Commuting allowance of 0.25 per KM or full reimbursement public transport
- Benefit from tax advantages via FiscFree on a gym membership, meal boxes, smartwatches, and sports gift cards
- Internal training programs (LinkedIn Learning Courses/Local Education Policy)
- Annual company events (e.g. volunteer day/team events)
