At Siemens Energy, aerodynamics is central to developing efficient and reliable gas turbines. As a Gas Turbine Aerodynamicist, you will contribute to solutions that support the energy transition while developing your expertise in a collaborative, international environment.
You will join our Turbine Aerodynamics and Whole Engine team, where experienced colleagues share knowledge and work together on technically challenging assignments. Your work may include method development, new and existing product development, component testing, technical investigations, and support to manufacturing, purchasing, and sales. How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform aerodynamic design and analysis of gas turbine flow paths using 1D, 2D, and 3D methods.
- Apply your knowledge of fluid mechanics to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and locations to integrate aerodynamic designs into complete engine systems.
- Contribute to development projects from early concepts through validation and implementation.
- Participate in technical investigations and root-cause analyses; with experience, you may also lead these activities.
- Program, maintain, and develop in-house calculation tools.
- Support the planning and evaluation of gas turbine and laboratory tests.
What You Bring
- A master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, engineering physics, or a related field is required. Doctoral studies are welcome but not required.
- A sound foundation in fluid mechanics and heat transfer, together with an interest in developing your knowledge further.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a structured approach to your work.
- The ability to collaborate, communicate, and share knowledge in an international team.
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn from others and contribute your own perspective.
- Experienced in CFD modeling and analysis with tools like ANSYS and STAR-CCM+, complemented by programming skills and knowledge of turbomachinery and gas turbine applications is an advantage but not required.If this opportunity interests you but you do not meet every preferred qualification, we still encourage you to apply. Our international team works across Finspång and India in the areas of aerodynamics and secondary air systems. You will be part of an experienced group with varied backgrounds, expertise, and responsibilities.
