The Logistics Procurement Department is a vital part of the Global Procurement team, responsible for establishing and managing strategic partnerships with logistics suppliers across the globe. The department plays a critical role in ensuring that logistics capacity is secured and available to support business needs while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, service, and cost competitiveness.

As a global function, the Logistics Procurement team manages a broad range of logistics categories that enable the efficient movement of materials, components, and equipment throughout the Vestas value chain. These categories include Project Transport, covering vessel chartering, port operations, and road and rail transportation of oversized components, as well as General Freight & Logistics Services, including ocean freight, air freight, overland transportation, express and courier services, warehousing, and customs-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the global subject matter expert for warehousing operations, driving best practices and ensuring alignment of warehouse solutions with business and regional requirements
• Lead the global Warehousing & Customs category with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of sourcing decisions, supplier strategies, and operational improvements
• Manage supplier relationships, including sourcing, tendering, contract negotiations, and performance management of warehouses, 3PLs, and customs brokers
• Act as the category expert for customs and international trade, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations and customs requirements
• Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and potential risks to drive proactive category and supplier strategies
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs), analytics, and reporting to measure supplier, cost, service, and customs performance
• Drive continuous improvement, digitalization, and cross-functional collaboration to support efficient end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field
• Solid experience in global procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing, with a focus on warehousing, logistics, customs, and trade compliance
• Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations, warehouse networks, storage and distribution processes, and warehouse service provider management
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of complex sourcing and operational initiatives with minimal supervision. Experience managing supplier relationships, conducting commercial negotiations, and delivering value through warehousing and logistics contracts
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data and market insights into business decisions
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, regions, and organizational levels
• Proficiency in supply chain and logistics technologies, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), customs platforms, ERP systems, and digital procurement or supply chain tools

• High attention to detail and a commitment to compliance, governance, and risk management in international logistics and trade activities
• Results-oriented and proactive professional with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English and the ability to engage confidently with both internal and external stakeholders

Additional information

The primary work location for this position is Szczecin (Poland), Warsaw (Poland), Hamburg (Germany) or Aarhus (Denmark).

Up to 25 days of travel per year.
