Experienced Privacy Consultant (with Legal Background)

About the Role
Danske Bank is seeking an experienced Privacy Consultant to join our Data Protection Support unit within the Data Privacy function in Data & Analytics. This position requires relevant experience in handling complex data breaches within large organisations or regulatory bodies. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection laws, while providing privacy support to operational processes.
About the Team
You will join a diverse international team based in Denmark and Lithuania, supporting GDPR processes across the Danske Bank Group. The work is dynamic and, at times, fast paced, requiring strategic thinking and creativity to ensure everything we do remains centred on the data subject and compliance with GDPR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal insights on GDPR compliance and manage the legal implications of data breaches.
- Conduct thorough assessments of data breach incidents and develop strategic responses to regulators and data subjects.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance data protection practices across the organisation.
- Work on various GDPR topics, providing legal support to operational departments such privacy notices, privacy risk assessments, data subject rights handling.
- Ensure the application of relevant laws to complex data breach cases with a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Engage in training and development activities to mentor teams on GDPR regulations and best practices.
About You:
- Law degree, ideally with a focus on data protection or privacy laws.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in GDPR consulting, legal roles, regulators particularly related to data breach management.
- Strong understanding of laws and regulations related to data protection, technology and financial services.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing relationships with regulatory bodies and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex legal information clearly.
