Introduction
Real-time traffic is at the heart of TomTom's mission to engineer the smartest, most useful map on the planet. Our live and historical traffic products — flow, jams, and speed profiles — power navigation, ADAS, and mobility decisions for the world's leading automotive OEMs, enterprises, and ride-hailing companies. As these customers move faster and expect richer, more accurate content, the way we generate, moderate, and deliver traffic data becomes a decisive competitive advantage.
As Product Manager for Traffic Flow, Jams, and Speed Profiles, you will own a core part of TomTom's real-time traffic portfolio and set its multi-year roadmap, grounded in a deep understanding of traffic processing technology and customer needs. You will also own TomTom's traffic moderation tool — enabling the world's leading ride-hailing companies to submit event reports, such as closures — running its user operations and prioritizing its feature roadmap.### What you'll do
- Own and deliver against Traffic Flow, Traffic Jams, and Speed Profiles — setting the roadmap, OKRs, and quality bar, and taking a leading role in product quality.
- Own and operate TomTom's traffic moderation tool, enabling the world's leading ride-hailing companies to submit event reports such as closures; run user operations and prioritize the tool's feature backlog.
- Bring a deep understanding of real-time traffic processing and jam detection, and use it to manage tradeoffs effectively.
- Focus on outcomes over outputs, tracking metrics such as ETT accuracy, jam detection quality, traffic coverage, and speed profile coverage.
- Lead brainstorms and drive product exploration through prototypes and wireframes.
- Gather deep customer insights from automotive OEMs, government agencies, and enterprise clients, separating high-value initiatives from nice-to-haves.
- Data acumen — able to analyze data from multiple sources, such as GPS traces, probes, STOs, camera observations, and traffic authorities, to drive decisions and assess tradeoffs.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and steer the product team by removing blockers and escalating appropriately.
- Communicate effectively to internal teams (automotive, navigation, delivery) and external stakeholders using customer problem statements and business logic; deliver concise presentations and lead meetings from standups to stakeholder reviews.
- Maintain product strategy and vision, and contribute to broader Traffic discussions; formulate compelling value propositions tied to articulated problems and product metrics.
- Establish yourself as the subject-matter expert and go-to person for live and historical traffic data products, maintaining trust across product and business teams with visible, citable personal impact.
What you'll need
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Product Manager, preferably in traffic, geospatial, mobility, or automotive domains.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with real-time data processing, GPS/probe data, or traffic and mobility analytics (preferred).
- Experience or technical training in data science, analytics, or related disciplines.
- Strong ability to understand, articulate, and represent customer needs and requirements.
- Proven ability to coordinate people and technical resources across multiple teams.
- Effective time management and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including with senior technical and executive audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
