As a Junior Utility Engineer Airports, you will contribute to international airport projects that keep millions of passengers moving safely and efficiently every day. You will support the design of essential airport utility systems, from water and power networks to fuel and communication infrastructure, for airports around the world, from Heathrow and Abu Dhabi to New Mexico City. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams and industry experts, you will help deliver innovative, future-ready airports from concept design through to implementation.
What will you do
As a site-wide Airport Utility Engineer, you contribute to multidisciplinary projects at new and existing airports around the globe. You will be responsible for the design, development and coordination of site-wide utility systems, including sewage, potable water, firefighting, aviation fuel, central cooling, power distribution and communication networks. Working closely with utility specialists and other discipline leads, such as civil and architectural design leads, you will support projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, from inception and concept design through to detailed design.
In this role you will:
- Define utility concepts and contribute to the development of airport utility plans and designs.
- Design and coordinate site-wide utility systems across all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with utility specialists and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated airport infrastructure solutions.
- Ensure alignment between utility systems and other airport disciplines, including civil engineering and architecture.
- Support the Utility Lead in technical development, knowledge sharing and departmental initiatives.
Where you will work
As our Utilities Engineer, you will become part of the Airport Asset Design team in Delft. Together with around 50 colleagues, you will work on challenging projects for both Dutch and international airport clients. We share a passion for aviation and collaborate in a team made up of colleagues from different nationalities, backgrounds, and levels of experience. What you bring
You enjoy working in an international, multidisciplinary environment where collaboration is key.You're proactive, excited to learn, and motivated to develop practical solutions for complex airport projects. With your analytical mindset and strong communication skills, you can connect technical expertise with client and project needs.
You also bring:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in utility planning, design or engineering within urban, industrial or infrastructure projects. Experience in airports is a pre.
- Knowledge of utility networks and the ability to prepare reports, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for piping, ducting and cable infrastructure.
- Experience collaborating with project managers, architects, planners and engineers to develop integrated design solutions.
- Experience with design software such as Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- An affinity with airports, aviation and complex infrastructure projects.
- Willingness to travel internationally to support clients and visit project sites when required.
