Warehouse & Inventory Technician
Location – Leça do Balio / Porto
Position – Full-time
Primary Function
Execute warehouse, inventory and shipment activities at the Porto site to ensure reliable material flow, inventory accuracy, SAP/ERP data integrity, and timely shipment execution. The role supports manufacturing continuity by receiving, storing, staging and shipping materials and finished goods in compliance with safety, quality and site procedures.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations & Material Handling
- Load and unload trucks safely using forklift or other approved warehouse equipment.
- Receive incoming goods, verify documentation, inspect for visible damage and identify discrepancies.
- Sort, label, store and move materials according to warehouse layout, safety requirements and site procedures.
- Stage materials for manufacturing based on production priorities and material requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized warehouse environment, including 5S and basic housekeeping standards.
Inventory Control & ERP Transactions
- Process all required SAP/ERP stock movements accurately and on time, including receipts, transfers, issues, returns and finished goods movements.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock checks, reconciliation of discrepancies and timely escalation of inventory issues.
- Maintain traceability and warehouse records in accordance with site, quality and compliance requirements.
- Control material status and physical segregation of accepted, quarantine and rejected materials.
Shipping & Distribution Execution
- Handle outbound shipments from booking through truck loading and shipment completion.
- Prepare shipment documentation and perform pre-shipment checks to ensure dispatch readiness.
- Coordinate with carriers, internal stakeholders and warehouse/production contacts to support on-time shipment execution.
- Control finished goods storage, picking, packing and shipment staging according to procedures.
Production Support & Material Flow
- Ensure production has the required materials, components and documentation available to support planned activities.
- Communicate material shortages, discrepancies or readiness risks to Manufacturing Supervisor, Operations/Production Management and relevant stakeholders.
- Support warehouse refit activities, SAP Catapult readiness and improvements to warehouse process discipline and data accuracy.
EHS, Quality & Compliance Responsibilities
- Perform all activities in accordance with environmental, health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Follow approved procedures for material handling, storage, segregation, shipping and documentation.
- Escalate non-conforming material, safety risks, inventory discrepancies and process deviations in a timely manner
EDUCATION
- Minimum education: High school diploma (12th grade) or equivalent technical qualification.
- Logistics, warehouse, supply chain or forklift certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, material handling, shipping/receiving or manufacturing support preferred.
- Forklift operation experience or ability to obtain required certification.
- Experience using ERP systems; SAP or SAP Business One preferred.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office tools, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a small-site environment and coordinate effectively with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and carriers.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in regulated manufacturing, electronics manufacturing or medical device environment.
- Familiarity with inventory accuracy, traceability, quarantine/rejected material segregation and shipment documentation.
- Understanding of warehouse refit, layout improvement or SAP migration readiness activities.
