We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications through structured manual testing and analysis of system behaviour across different environments.
The QA Engineer will execute manual test scenarios, analyse system logs, and validate data in the database to ensure that features and integrations behave as expected. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Execute manual test cases based on documented test scenarios written in English.

Design, create, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), or similar quality management platforms.

Perform moderately complex work in the research, design, development, and execution of automated Quality Assurance tests.

Create and execute automated test scripts using technologies such as Java, SQL, Gherkin, Cucumber, Cypress, Playwright, and Appium.

Identify and prepare relevant test data, including synthetic test data, IAM test accounts, and input files for simulation tools.

Analyse application logs to detect issues, validate system behaviour, and support troubleshooting activities.

Perform SQL queries in Oracle and/or SQL Server databases to validate data consistency and investigate defects.

Collect and document test evidence to support test execution and results.

Work across Development (DEV), Quality Assurance (QA), Pre-Production (PREPROD), and Production (PROD) environments.

Report, track, update, and support defect resolution throughout the defect lifecycle.

Support validation of system integrations, end-to-end business processes, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.

Modify and maintain existing automation scripts and frameworks according to project needs.

Coordinate test execution with distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Contribute to QA best practices, standards, audit activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Mentor and coach junior team members.

Collaborate within Agile Scrum or SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) delivery teams. Required Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, or Quality Engineering.

Strong experience with manual testing, test execution, and defect management processes.

Experience creating and maintaining test cases, test plans, and testing documentation.
-
Experience with quality management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), or similar.

Experience with repository management tools such as Git, GitLab, or Bitbucket.

Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Experience with Cucumber/Gherkin and test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, and Appium.

Experience creating and executing automation scripts using Java, SQL, or Gherkin.

Experience with BrowserStack and/or Perfecto.
-
Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

Knowledge of QA standards, methodologies, best practices, and defect management workflows.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of SQL, preferably with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.

Experience using SQL Developer or similar database tools.

Ability to analyse application logs and identify potential issues.

Experience creating and managing synthetic test data and IAM test accounts.
-
Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.

Understanding of software lifecycle environments (DEV, QA, PREPROD, PROD).

Experience working with distributed teams and coordinating activities across multiple time zones.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience with mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing.

Experience participating in or supporting quality audits.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with test documentation and evidence collection.
- Familiarity with simulators or integration testing tools.
- Experience in system integration or end-to-end testing.
Legal: Must own a valid work permit or EU/Schengen Space Nationality to legally work in Portugal
