The Universal Kraft group has been actively developing renewable energy solutions for over 20 years. Our projects span from wind and solar to waste-to-energy, water treatment, and energy storage solutions, including green Hydrogen and green Ammonia.
With offices in Canada, Portugal, Spain and Sweden, we are continuously expanding, along with our team. Currently, we are recruiting for a Jurist to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong academic background and up to 5 years of experience, looking to grow within the energy sector. You will provide essential legal support across the full project lifecycle, from permitting to execution, helping to ensure regulatory compliance and successful implementation.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support across all areas of the business, with a focus on project development
- Conduct legal research and analysis of national and international regulatory frameworks
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, permits, and other legal documents
- Advise project teams on legal risks, obligations, and compliance requirements
- Support negotiations with governmental bodies, landowners, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Assist with permitting and licensing processes in multiple jurisdictions
- Monitor regulatory and legislative changes in key markets (Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Canada)
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure legal alignment across technical and commercial activities
Requirements
- Degree in Law (Licenciatura em Direito or equivalent); bar admission is an advantage but not essential
- 2–5 years of experience in energy, environmental, or administrative law
- Solid experience in contract drafting and negotiation
- Familiarity with renewable energy regulatory frameworks in at least two of the following markets: Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Canada
- Ability to interpret and explain legal matters clearly to non-legal teams
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish or French are a plus
