We are seeking an experienced C# / C++ developer for Windows and iOS for our team in Poland who enjoys working in a diverse team of highly capable engineers
About the role:
As a C# / C++ developer at ForeFlight / Jeppesen ForeFlight, you will work mainly on a Windows EFB application, while also contributing to a middleware SDK/library used by client applications across platforms, including Windows and iOS.
Typical tasks and responsibilities include:
- Software development of the Windows EFB application
- Maintenance and optimization of existing features
- Working with C#, UWP/XAML and C++ components
- Debugging issues across managed and native code
- Contributing to content delivery SDK/library code
- Supporting platform adapter work for Windows, WinRT/UWP and iOS
- Working with HTTP/REST integrations, content download flows, certificates and authentication
- Improving error handling, retries, logging and diagnostics
- Collaborating with developers, test engineers and stakeholders across global teams
- Supporting automated tests, CI builds and release packaging
- Proactively working with test engineers to ensure product reliability and safety
Who are you?
In order to succeed in this role, you should be able to recognize yourself in at least some of the following:
- Educational background in a relevant technical field, e.g. software engineering, computer science, electronics and telecommunications, data science, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of strong software development experience with C# and C++14 or newer
- Communicative English and ability to collaborate with global stakeholders
- Experience with Windows client development
- Experience with UWP / XAML; WPF experience is also valuable
- Experience with Visual Studio, MSBuild, NuGet and Windows SDK
- Good understanding of asynchronous programming and multithreaded workflows
- Experience working with large existing codebases and legacy components
- Good debugging skills across C#, C++ and native/managed boundaries
- Experience with unit and integration testing
- Experience with HTTP/REST integrations, error handling, retries and logging
- Basic understanding of certificates, authentication flows and secure storage
- You try to understand the problem, not only implement the requested change
- A passion for aviation is a strong plus.
This position is on a hybrid schedule. This means you will be required to perform some work onsite at the company’s Gdansk, Poland office. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Nice to have:
- Experience with C++/CX or C++/WinRT
- DirectX, OpenGL, Win2D or map/graphics rendering experience
- SQLite / local persistence
- SDK/library development experience
- OpenSSL or crypto/certificate-related experience
- iOS exposure: Swift, Objective-C / Objective-C++, Xcode
- Experience with iOS SDK integrations or cross-platform SDK adapters
- Experience in open source or multi-repo development
