Job Summary:
The Business Development Sales Manager (New Energy) is based in Germany and is responsible for building and developing the German market while supporting the company’s wider European expansion. The role will create new business, establish strategic sales channels and partnerships, and position the company’s New Energy solutions with customers and key market stakeholders. Working closely with international commercial, technical, and management teams, the position will convert market opportunities into a qualified pipeline, sustainable revenue, and long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Germany Market Development: Develop and execute the go-to-market and sales strategy for Germany, define priority segments and accounts, and establish a strong local market presence.
- European Expansion Support: Use experience and relationships developed in Germany to identify and support selected growth opportunities across Europe in coordination with regional and global teams.
- Customer Acquisition: Build a qualified pipeline, identify decision-makers, lead prospecting and customer visits, prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and win new business.
- Partner and Channel Development: Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop distributors, agents, value-added resellers, and other channel partners; define joint business plans and monitor performance.
- Strategic Ecosystem Development: Establish long-term relationships with system integrators, EPC contractors, utilities, OEMs, installers, developers, and strategic partners relevant to the New Energy ecosystem.
- Key Account Management: Develop trusted relationships with priority customers and partners, coordinate technical and commercial support, and expand business through repeat and cross-selling opportunities.
- Market Intelligence: Track German and European market trends, customer requirements, regulations, incentive schemes, technology developments, and emerging applications; translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitor portfolios, pricing, positioning, channels, certifications, and market activities, and provide structured analysis to support product and commercial strategy.
- Solution and Proposal Development: Work with technical and product teams to shape customer-focused solutions, quotations, tenders, and business cases that meet local technical, commercial, and compliance expectations.
- Trade Shows and Industry Engagement: Represent the company at relevant trade fairs, conferences, partner events, and industry associations in Germany and Europe; plan follow-up activities and convert leads into opportunities.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity stages, forecasts, partner plans, and activity reports; provide regular KPI-based updates on pipeline, wins, risks, market feedback, and required management support.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with international sales, product, engineering, operations, and after-sales teams to ensure reliable customer communication and successful project handover and execution.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, energy, business, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is an advantage.
- At least five years of successful business development, sales, or key account experience in New Energy, energy storage, EV charging, renewable energy, or adjacent infrastructure markets.
- Strong knowledge of the German market, including customer structures, routes to market, procurement practices, regulatory considerations, and competitive dynamics.
- An established professional network in Germany—and preferably across Europe—among customers, system integrators, EPCs, utilities, OEMs, distributors, installers, or strategic partners.
- Proven ability to acquire new customers, develop sales channels and strategic partnerships, build a pipeline from the ground up, and close complex B2B opportunities.
- Experience developing quotations, proposals, tenders, and commercial agreements, including negotiation with senior customer and partner stakeholders.
- Commercial understanding of New Energy solutions and their manufacturing, certification, delivery, installation, service, and after-sales requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn market intelligence and competitive analysis into clear priorities and recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, CRM, forecasting, and management-reporting skills; comfortable working independently and with international, cross-functional teams.
- Fluent business English is required; German language skills are strongly preferred. Additional European languages are an advantage.
- Based in Germany and willing to travel frequently throughout Germany and, as required, across Europe for customer meetings, partner development, projects, and trade shows.
