Would you like to help organisations navigate the challenges of Chemicals Management and Product Stewardship? As a Senior Consultant, you advise companies and public sector organisations on challenges related to innovation, sustainability and chemical regulations. You translate complex legislation, policy developments and scientific insights into strategic advice and use your expertise to support clients, projects and colleagues. What you do as a Senior Consultant Chemicals Management & Product Stewardship
As a Senior Consultant Chemicals Management & Product Stewardship, you help clients address strategic, policy-related and practical challenges related to chemical substances, product safety and the sustainable use of chemicals. You bring together legislation, science, strategy and business operations, translating complex regulatory and policy developments into practical advice for clients.
In this role, you will:
- Advise clients on Chemicals Management, Product Stewardship, REACH, CLP, DWD, SSbD, SVHC/ZZS, restrictions, authorisations and the sustainable use of chemical substances.
- Lead complex national and international consultancy projects, providing direction to multidisciplinary teams while taking overall responsibility for quality, client satisfaction and project outcomes.
- Translate complex technical, scientific and regulatory information into clear advice and strategies for clients.
- Strengthen existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities within Chemicals Management and Product Stewardship, including proposals, tenders and market initiatives.
- Coach junior and mid-level consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building within the team.

As our new Senior Consultant Chemicals Management & Product Stewardship, you will become part of the Environment & Safety advisory group within Industry & Buildings Netherlands. You will work alongside experts in chemical safety, product stewardship, toxicology, ecotoxicology, industrial hygiene, permitting, environmental assessment and HSE management on projects with a direct impact on health, the environment and sustainable innovation. Together, you will help companies and public sector organisations manage chemical substances safely and responsibly, from product development through to phase-out. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your expertise, share knowledge within the team and contribute to the continued development of our services. What you bring
You are a trusted technical advisor who quickly understands complex challenges and translates them into practical recommendations for clients. You are comfortable moving between technical detail, strategic considerations and the different interests within an organisation. You enjoy working closely with clients and colleagues and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
You have an entrepreneurial mindset, recognise opportunities in the market and build strong relationships with clients and partners. You take ownership of projects, maintain high quality standards and support the development of colleagues. In addition, you bring:
- An academic background in chemistry, toxicology, environmental sciences, regulatory affairs, industrial hygiene, life sciences or a related field.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in Chemicals Management, Product Stewardship, chemical regulations, regulatory affairs, chemical safety or sustainable chemicals policy.
- Strong knowledge of European and international chemicals legislation and policy, including REACH, CLP, SVHC/ZZS, authorisation and restriction processes, product safety, SSbD and related regulations.
- Experience in strategic consulting, stakeholder management, project leadership and translating complex information into practical client solutions.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify client needs, develop opportunities and contribute to proposals, tenders and network development.
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken (Dutch is an advantage).
