Mission
As we progress on our flexibility strategy, we have grouped all thermal asset and related business development under a single business unit.
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Growth Thermal, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing and advancing acquisition and partnership opportunities related to thermal assets, actively participating in the transaction, cooperating with internal and external resources, and supporting in the internal decision-making process.
This role can be based in Madrid or Milano, ideally. We are open to other Alpiq locations too.
Your main responsibilities
As Strategic Growth Business Developer Thermal you will be responsible for implementing the acquisition of thermal assets.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Portfolio & Strategic Support, Contribute to the definition and update of Alpiq's thermal growth strategy.
- Market Intelligence & Origination, Identify potential acquisition, partnership and development opportunities as well as develop market intelligence on regulatory developments, capacity mechanisms, power market evolution and competitive landscape.
- Opportunity Assessment, Perform preliminary commercial and strategic assessments of potential opportunities, Support valuation exercises and business case development.
- Transaction execution, deal structuring and negotiations, coordination of due diligence (with Legal, Finance, Technical, etc. and external adviser), presentation of investment cases to EB.
Your profile
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Finance. Post-Graduate Business Education ad a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in an Energy company on business and/or strategic roles, preferably with experience in M&A transactions, business development or strategic projects within the energy sector.
- Understanding of European electricity markets and regulatory frameworks, with experience in at least two of the target markets (Italy, Spain, UK, France, Germany and Poland).
- Experience in highly complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent in English. Fluency in another relevant language desirable.
