MV Jointer

As an MV Jointer, you will be responsible for carrying out medium voltage cable installation, jointing, termination, testing and maintenance activities across a range of industrial, commercial and mission critical projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in MV systems, cable terminations and testing, together with a commitment to delivering right-first-time installations. You will play a key role in supporting project delivery across Europe while maintaining compliance with all safety, quality and client requirements.

Responsibilities* Carry out medium voltage cable jointing and terminations on systems up to 36kV.

• Install, maintain and support medium voltage electrical infrastructure across a range of industrial and commercial projects.
• Perform glanding and termination of MV cable types including AWA, SWA, XLPE, PILC and MDPE.
• Carry out MV cable testing and fault identification using appropriate test equipment, including insulation resistance and VLF testing.
• Interpret MV drawings, cable schedules and technical documentation to ensure accurate installation and testing.
• Complete all work to the highest quality standards, promoting a right-first-time approach to project delivery.
• Identify, report and assist in resolving quality, installation and equipment issues.
• Liaise effectively with project teams, supervisors and other trades to support successful project execution.
• Support the training and development of apprentices and junior team members through on-the-job coaching and guidance.
• Maintain tools, equipment and materials in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company health and safety procedures and client requirements.
• Be flexible to work across various project locations throughout Ireland and Europe as required.

Requirements* Relevant Electrical qualification, apprenticeship or trade certification.

• Proven experience carrying out MV cable jointing, terminations and testing on systems up to 36kV.
• Certification and experience in Nexans, Euromold, Moni or Tyco MV termination systems.
• Strong knowledge of MV electrical installations, cable systems and testing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, cable schedules and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within industrial and construction environments.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Full driving licence.
• Eligibility to work across Europe.
