Microsoft’s Public Sector Industry Advisory team focuses on partnering with customers to achieve strategic goals.This team is responsible for providing a differentiated Customer experience for our customers, providing Industry insights and delivering solutions that result in targeted business outcomes and driving revenue growth for Microsoft.
As an Industry Advisor, you will have the opportunity to drive industry-focused sales for Microsoft. This role is responsible for originating sales and driving industry-led conversations with customers. Accountabilities include developing and winning market-making opportunities that deliver customer value and enabling transformational customer outcomes. As an Industry Advisor you will be the Industry subject matter expert , engaging with senior decision makers to identify, generate and nurture new business opportunities. You will articulate and position strategic business value and long-term positive results of using Microsoft's products, partners and solutions, collaborating with your peers to successfully closing deals.

Responsibilities
- Leverage industry depth to accelerate digital transformation with Microsoft Cloud resulting in net-new revenue opportunities and growth.
- Drive Microsoft platform wins and Microsoft position in the countries related to sovereignty policies, shares services platforms and utilization, deployment and utilization of AI Software Factories, Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructures.
- Originate new opportunities across assigned customers, incubate new opportunities for Microsoft across AI, Copilot and Security that evidence positioning Microsoft platform and business solutions. Accelerate demand generation with customers leveraging C-Suite relationships to deliver multi-horizon incremental opportunities and growth
- Generate thought leadership which successfully identifies, positions and advances new scalable, repeatable industry solutions
Deliver Operational Excellence, maximize time spent with customers and lead orchestration with core account team to realize value by consistently exceeding customers' expectations.
- Serves as a thought leader on Government industry-focused sales within Microsoft and as the Government Industry subject matter expert in digital transformation. Acts as an industry advisor to executive-level business decision makers. Identifies business needs and customer readiness to land value propositions. Provides guidance from an industry perspective during early stages of opportunity engagements. Engages with senior decision makers to nurture new business opportunities.
- Initiates conversations with strategic Government customers to bring innovative ideas that showcase the need for strategic change, focused on sovereignty, AI, shared services delivery and cybersecurity. Determines root cause of customer problems, removes blockers, and establishes recovery action plan.
- Generates demand through industry presentations and events. Proactively seeks additional training, including information that adds to the understanding of customers' businesses, and shares it with team members. Serves as industry communicator to translate industry knowledge for the account management team. Collaborates with partners to identify future requirements and connect the partner ecosystems in efforts to scale business results. Extends relationships with peers and senior team members across solution areas. Proactively builds knowledge of Microsoft and industry solutions and capabilities.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Supply Chain, Education, Business or related field AND some years customer-facing experience in public sector
- Experience working within government, public sector organizations, or advising government institutions and serving as a startegic advisor or consultant to governmrnt stakeholders
- Experience influencing or contributing to public policy, regulatory initiatives, national digital strategies, or government transformation programs
- Building trusted relationships with senior government decision-makers (e.g., ministers, policymakers, senior civil servants, agency leaders)
Industry Advisory IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Sweden is kr 874,000.00 - kr 1,439,000.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
