Hydraulic Systems Engineer – Offshore Equipment
Engineer the hydraulic systems that moves world-class offshore equipment
Do you want to work on hydraulic systems that power some of the world's most advanced offshore equipment? From offshore wind installation vessels to heavy-lift cranes and jacking systems, you'll help develop innovative hydraulic solutions for some of the world's most demanding offshore applications.
At GustoMSC, an NOV company, you'll join our Controls, Hydraulics, Electrical & Instrumentation Systems Engineering (CHES) department. Together, we develop and integrate the systems that bring our offshore equipment to life through innovative systems engineering and multidisciplinary collaboration.
This is not a traditional detailed design role. You'll focus on concept development, system architecture, engineering calculations and technical integration, working closely with specialist suppliers to deliver hydraulic systems that enable lifting capacities of thousands of tonnes while ensuring safe and reliable operation.
We're looking for a Junior or Medior Hydraulic Systems Engineer to strengthen our growing engineering team. Whether you're looking to build your expertise or take the next step in your career, you'll work alongside experienced specialists on challenging international projects.
Why join CHES?
- Design systems, not components
Focus on concept development, system architecture and technical integration rather than detailed design. You'll define how hydraulic systems work, while collaborating with specialist suppliers responsible for detailed engineering and manufacturing.
- Engineering across the full lifecycle
Be involved from concept development and technical sales support through engineering, commissioning, aftermarket support and continuous product improvement.
- Grow your technical expertise
Work alongside experienced engineers who will help you develop into a specialist in hydraulic systems engineering, giving you increasing responsibility and ownership of engineering work packages.
- Design systems that keep offshore operations moving
Your hydraulic solutions directly influence the safety, reliability and performance of equipment operating in some of the world's most demanding environments.
What do we offer?
At GustoMSC, engineering is at the heart of everything we do. You'll join a team of passionate specialists developing innovative offshore equipment used around the world.
In return, we offer:
- A collaborative and inspiring engineering environment.
- Challenging international projects with leading offshore clients.
- Excellent opportunities for technical development and career growth.
- Guidance and coaching from experienced specialists. Competitive employment conditions and flexible working arrangements.
Ready to engineer the future?
Whether you're looking to build your expertise or take the next step in your engineering career, GustoMSC offers an environment where you can continue to develop alongside experienced specialists.
If you're excited by innovative hydraulic systems, multidisciplinary engineering and the opportunity to work on some of the world's most advanced offshore equipment, we'd love to hear from you.
Join GustoMSC and help engineer the hydraulic systems that drive the offshore industry of tomorrow.
What will you do?
As Hydraulic Systems Engineer, you'll own the concept and basic engineering of hydraulic systems for complex offshore equipment, ensuring they are successfully integrated and verified throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities include:
- Develop hydraulic concepts, system architectures and basic engineering for complex offshore equipment.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, system analyses and engineering verification.
- Define technical specifications and provide technical guidance to suppliers during engineering and verification activities.
- Manage technical interfaces between hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- Review supplier documentation and support FATs, commissioning and troubleshooting throughout the equipment lifecycle.
- Contribute to product development and continuous improvement through project experience and innovation.
Who are we looking for?
You are an analytical engineer who enjoys understanding how complex systems work and translating technical challenges into practical hydraulic solutions. You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment, where collaboration, technical curiosity and continuous learning are key to delivering high-quality offshore equipment.
You bring:
- A BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering or a comparable technical discipline and level.
- An interest in systems engineering and the interaction between hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- For a medior position, several years of relevant experience with hydraulic engineering or mobile/offshore equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
