About your role
AML Monitoring & Investigations
- Review and analyse complex suspicious activity cases relating to money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Conduct investigations arising from Transaction Monitoring alerts.
- Analyse unusual customer and transaction activity using a risk-based approach.
- Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews on high-risk clients.
- Prepare comprehensive case assessments and maintain documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
KYC & Customer Due Diligence
- Review and approve complex KYC and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) cases.
- Conduct customer risk assessments and periodic reviews.
- Identify Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), sanctioned individuals, and other high-risk indicators.
- Ensure compliance with internal AML policies and regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance & Expertise
- Perform quality assurance reviews and second-level checks within AML Operations processes.
- Support the development and enhancement of procedures, policies, and control frameworks.
- Ensure consistent and regulatory-compliant case handling.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with Compliance, MLRO, Legal, Risk Management, Fraud Prevention, and Business Units.
- Support internal and external audits as well as regulatory inspections.
- Act as a key point of contact for operational AML-related matters across the organisation.
About you
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a banking qualification combined with relevant professional experience in an AML environment.
Professional Experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in AML, Financial Crime Compliance, or KYC Operations.
- Proven experience conducting complex AML investigations.
- Experience working with transaction monitoring systems and screening solutions.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of relevant AML/CFT regulations and industry standards.
- In-depth understanding of money laundering typologies and financial crime risks.
- Experience with Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), sanctions screening, and PEP reviews.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements within the banking or payments industry.
