What you'll be doing
Experienced IT Technical Analyst with strong expertise in the analysis, design, and enhancement of securities back-office applications on Mainframe platforms. Combines deep technical knowledge of host application development with solid functional expertise in securities processing, acting as a key interface between business stakeholders, functional experts, and development teams. Proven experience in implementing regulatory and business requirements across the entire securities lifecycle.
In this role you will:* Analyze and implement business requirements within the securities back-office domain.
- Design technical solution concepts for new business initiatives and regulatory changes.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development and operations teams.
- Collaborate closely with business departments, product owners, and developers to ensure end-to-end solution delivery.
- Analyze and optimize existing securities processes, applications, and interfaces.
- Support incident, problem, and change management activities.
- Participate in projects using both traditional and agile delivery methodologies.
- Perform impact assessments, data analyses, and technical reviews.
- Contribute to the continuous evolution of securities platforms and core applications.
What you'll need to succeed
Functional Knowledge* Securities Back Office
- Good understanding of the securities lifecycle, including settlement and custody processes.
- Knowledge of custody account management, corporate actions, cash processing, and securities settlement.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements within the securities environment.
- Experience with securities master data and interfaces to market and reference data providers.
- Knowledge of banking and operational processes in the securities domain
Business Analysis
- Elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business requirements.
- Preparation of business and IT solution concepts.
- Process analysis and optimization.
- Facilitation of workshops with business stakeholders.
- Requirements management and release support.
- Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Technical Skills* Mainframe & Host Technologies
- Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS environments.
- Several years of experience in the development and analysis of Mainframe applications.
- COBOL and PL/I development for both batch and online applications.
- Experience with IMS, CICS, and Mainframe application frameworks.
- JCL and batch processing.
- DB2 databases and SQL.
- Analysis of interfaces and data flows.
- Troubleshooting and performance optimization of host applications.
- Ensuring operational stability and maintainability of mission-critical systems.
Development & Integration Tools
- Eclipse IDE.
- Java and client-server application architectures.
- Mainframe development and debugging tools.
- Experience in integrating distributed applications with host systems.
Methods & Ways of Working
- Strong analytical and structured approach.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience working in international and geographically distributed teams.
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and quality orientation.
- Proven stakeholder management skills across business and IT organizations.
Ideal Candidate

5+ years of experience in Mainframe environments.

3+ years of experience as a Technical Analyst, Business Analyst, or Senior Developer in the securities sector.

Solid understanding of securities back-office processes.

Strong technical expertise in COBOL, PL/I, DB2, JCL, and Mainframe architectures.

Ability to understand business requirements and derive technical solutions.

Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken.
