Drive meaningful change
As a Student Analyst in Global Trading & Market Events, you'll help identify developments that can create commercial opportunities or risks across European pharmaceutical markets. From patent expiries and product launches to shortages and pricing changes, you'll transform complex market information into actionable insights that support important trading decisions at Abacus Medicine.
This is an opportunity to build practical analytical skills, gain exposure to commercial decision-making, and work closely with experienced colleagues in an industry that directly impacts access to medicine.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Identifying and analysing market developments that could impact Abacus Medicine's trading opportunities across Europe.
- Tracking patent expiries, product changes, and other key market events to help the business stay ahead of developments.
- Turning data into insights through ad hoc analyses that support commercial decision-making.
- Monitoring new product approvals from European authorities and assessing their potential business impact.
- Helping improve the team's analytical toolbox through reporting solutions, Power BI dashboards, and self-service analytics.
- Creating clear presentations and decision-support materials that make complex findings easy to understand.
- Contributing to projects and initiatives that strengthen market intelligence capabilities across the organisation.
Your Profile
You are motivated by understanding how market developments create business opportunities and enjoy turning information into actionable insights. You combine a structured approach with strong analytical thinking and can communicate complex topics in a clear and business-oriented way.
We imagine that you:
- Are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree within Business, Economics, Finance, Pharmacy, or a related field.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Are comfortable working with Excel and have an interest in data analysis and visualisation.
- Have experience with, or an interest in learning, Power BI and self-service analytics tools.
- Can translate complex information into clear and business-relevant insights.
- Are curious and proactive, with a desire to explore new questions and opportunities.
- Work in a structured and detail-oriented manner.
- Enjoy taking ownership while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Have an interest in pharmaceutical markets, international business, and commercial decision-making.
- Communicate confidently in English, both verbally and in writing.
Be part of an international community of people who care
You will join the Global Trading & Market Events team, where market intelligence meets commercial decision-making. The team helps Abacus Medicine navigate market developments such as shortages, product launches, patent expiries, and generic competition across Europe.
Working closely with colleagues across Business Development, Purchasing, and other commercial functions, you will gain valuable insight into the pharmaceutical industry and the business decisions that shape trading opportunities. As a student employee, you will be given responsibility from day one and the opportunity to see how data and market intelligence create real business impact.
